After 20 years of collecting, the time has come for me to sell my Beatles collection and let other collectors appreciate some of the records and memorabilia I've accumilated over the years. This auction is for a rare stereo pressing of the Beatles debut LP Please Please Me. This is the rare later pressing with small 'Stereo' format on the front cover and Gramophone rimtext.
Judging by the label layout, the 'Patents Pending' sleeve and the fact that there's no taxcode, I'd guess that this was a late 60's pressing. This LP was only available by the time that fans had moved into Sgt. Pepper and the White Album, and so it really did not sell well at all!
Would make a perfect collection filler.

The cover is looking good for its age but has the usual light wear and tear you'd normally see on an album cover this age. The front has a good colour to it with some light laminate creasing. There's some little knocks on the front that have dented the cover slightly. Top and bottom seams are holding tight with no wear and splits. Spine has a couple of little laminate creases running through it but is fully legible with no wear or splits. Back cover has yellowed with a little extra browning down the mouth edge. There's a little disc impression and some light dirt buildup on the edge of the overflaps and a small tear in the paper at the bottom left under the £ logo., But overall the cover is holding okay. The playing surface on side 1 has a fair amount of light, faint scuffs along with a few slightly heavier scuffs. The playing surface on side 2, sadly, has some heavy scuffing and markings that bring the grade down, and it's this scuffing that sadly makes this copy ideal as a collection filler..

The labels are looking really clean with bright, silver text and just a little spindlewear around the centrehole along with a touch of whitening. Overall, lovely labels!
