BEATLES The Beatles The White Album ORIG UK 2xLP MINT

	£		255
	$		338

Original UK stereo top opening gatefold double LP (numbered 0370635 on the front cover), release date 1968 on the dark green Apple (sold in UK text) label, catalogue numbers: PCS7067 & PCS7068 Matrix nos: side1) YEX709-1 side 2) YEX710-1 side 3) YEX711-1 side 4) YEX712-1 Condition of cover/record: MINT / MINT (Grading as used by Record Collector) The flip-back laminated cover was printed and made in Great Britain by Garrod & Lofthouse International Ltd, & is in MINT condition as it was kept in a polythene sleeve since purchase. I purchased it when it was released, and have kept it in a record case & have not played it for well over 30 years. There is a tiny mark at the top open edge on the rear cover approx ¼ inch long & 1/16th inch thick, but the cover is still intact, it is just a dent. There is also a minute corner crease approx 1/8th inch in one corner only. Despite these very minor points, this is a stunning album cover, worthy of MINT rating – please see my feedback for comments relating to my sales. The four colour photo prints of the Beatles are in pristine condition. The poster has some marks around the edge of the colour photo side, where it was stuck with tape onto the wall of my room. This has left some yellow discolouration – there were 8 strips of tape that were used, 6 of them were about ¼ inch by 6 inches, and 2 corners with tape approx ½ inch by 3 inches – see photos. Please note, the poster is not torn or written on, and has no creases, just the manufacturer’s folds, and the reverse side where full lyrics to all songs were printed is pristine. The winning bidder may be able to acquire a perfect original poster from another source. In fact, I do have another, but much later copy of this album, with a perfect poster, however it is not made by Garrod and Lofthouse, but by German printers Heinrich Nicolaus. If the winning bidder wants this instead of the original, please ask after the end of auction. There are no other creases, no tears, rings, wear to any of the edges, no splaying of the open edge, no writing or stickers. The album cover is pure white, with no deterioration whatsoever – no dirt marks or fingering – on all four surfaces – MINT RATING IS FULLY JUSTIFIED. I have seen other examples of this cover, but this rates right up there with the best. The spine is in perfect condition with perfect print. The inner sleeves are the original black die-cut paper – (one has a three inch tear). The four labels have very few spindle marks: side 1) approx 8; side 2) approx 15-20; side 3) just 2 or 3; side 4) approx 10-12. This is also a fair indication of how often the records were played – in the end they were taped, and the albums were stored away in a record case. Please note: there were some light reflections in some photos which I was unable to eliminate. The record plays AS NEAR TO PERFECTION AS IT GETS – I counted just one faint click on the whole album – OTHERWISE FAULTLESS – AS IF STRAIGHT FROM THE FACTORY – NO OTHER CLICKS POPS OR CRACKLES AT ALL. This record was cleaned and played before the auction to ensure accuracy of description. This item has no reserve on it, & is from my personal collection.
