BEATLES UK  –  ABBEY ROAD LP,  ‘ A – 3U ’ Export matrix & a MISALIGNED APPLE.

1969 PCS 7088 -  APPLE RECORD LABEL.

A first press UK album in 100%  original condition, featuring:

1. an unusual matrix  reference on side one of the record, this normally  appear as  just  the number 2, but  this copy has  the matrix  ‘ YEX 749    A – 3 U’, this apparently  suggests that his  record was meant for   EXPORT. 

2. a  Misaligned APPLE logo mispress on the rear of the sleeve.

3. the track ‘ Her Majesty ’ is NOT printed on the record label on side two nor is it printed on the rear of the sleeve BUT the track  DOES play on the record !

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE:  is in  excellent+  condition, the  best sleeve I have seen for  a long time.   The sleeve has an excellent full glossy  laminate.   The  thin spine is in  excellent+ condition and all the text  is clear to read, the spine usually is free from the usual creases to the laminate.   The  sleeve has retained its four excellent sharp corners.  As this is a very first pressing of this album it  features the Apple logo on the rear of the sleeve misaligned, to the left !.  EMI were quick to correct this and later sleeves had the Apple logo aligned with the song listing !. There are NO stains, pen writing,  tears, splits, stickers or sticker residue. 

THE INNER SLEEVE:    is in  excellent condition  and  is the original white sleeve with a   ‘ Patent No.  1,125,555’ number. An excellent clean, white fresh sleeve for its age.    Theres   NO pen writing, stains, splits,  tears,   stickers or sticker residue. 

THE VINYL:  the record has received a fair bit of play, side one is in good++ condition.   Side two is in near  very good condition.  The vinyl is made from the period thick, heavy vinyl, it is still  dark and glossy in appearance.

The Matrix are :       YEX  749  A - 3 U  (unusual,  referring to an export  issue ! ),        and    YEX  750  –  1,

The Mother/Stampers are :  very early    ‘ 1    H   ’   and   ‘ 1    R P R ’.

THE AUDIO:  is very good, each side does play with some crackle  and some light ‘ticks’.   The record  plays well without the needle sticking or jumping. 

THE LABELS:     are in  very good condition.     As this is a first pressing side one shows a DARK Green Apple.   The song  ‘ Her Majesty ’  does NOT appear on the label.   There is a discrete name written on side two, see photo in black pen.   There  are NO stickers or sticker residue on the labels.
