BEATLES UK – Abbey Road LP, mis aligned apple logo sleeve, black inner, very first UK press.

1969 PCS 7088 - apple record labels.

A UK very first issue from September 1969, in original condition, featuring:

1. a mis aligned apple logo mis press on the rear of the sleeve,

2. comes with its original first issue, ‘apple’ black inner sleeve,

3. the track ‘Her Majesty’ is not printed on the record label or on the rear of the sleeve, but this track plays on the record !.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent++ condition, the sleeve is laminated front and rear. This laminate has retained its original glossy finish and is relatively free from any ‘scuffing’ and ‘indentations’. The four corners of the sleeve have remained clean and sharp for its age. The two opening edge have remained clean and sharp. The original ‘thin’ spine is in excellent+ condition and has remained clean and white in colour and all the text on the spine is clear to read. As this is a very first UK issue of this album it features the apple logo on the rear of the sleeve misaligned, to the left !. EMI were quick to correct this and very soon the sleeves were changed and the apple logo was correctly aligned with the song listing. There are NO stains, pen writing, splits, tears, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent condition and is the original ‘apple’ black inner sleeve. There are NO tears, stains, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. There are some small ‘nicks’ to the rear opening edge and a slight split to the bottom edge and to one of the sides.

THE RECORD: side one is in near excellent condition, side two is in excellent condition. The record is made from the quality 1960s, period, thick heavy vinyl. It has remained very dark and glossy.

The matrix are: YEX 749 - 2 and YEX 750 - 1,

The mother / stampers are: ‘ 9 M O G’ and ‘ 4 A D H ’,

THE AUDIO: side one plays excellent with just some light ‘ticks’ heard here and there, but in general plays with excellent quiet grooves. Side two plays excellent++ with excellent quiet grooves. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: are in excellent++ condition. As this is a very first UK issue side one shows a DARK Green Apple colour. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.
