BEATLES UK, Help LP, No ‘Sold in UK’ etc text, rare mono labels.

PMC 1255 – original black and yellow Parlophone labels.

An original UK copy from 1969, in original condition, featuring:

By the middle of 1969, EMI had removed the text, ‘Sold in UK’, etc, from their record labels, to what was to become the last UK yellow and black mono Parlophone labels. Only a very small number of these labels were ever printed, so any Beatle album with this label variant are now very hard to find. The ‘Help’ variant seems to be one of the most difficult to find.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in very good++ condition, the front is laminated. The spine is very good++ condition and all the text on the spine is clear to read. The rear of the sleeve features the original 1960s ‘flip back’ edges. The rear of the sleeve has remained clean for its age. Theres NO tears, splits, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. There is a bit of laminate lift to the front opening edge and some pen writing to the rear and some age related discolouring to the front of the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in near excellent condition and is the original, 1969 period, red and white EMI advertising sleeve. Theres NO pen writing, tears, splits, stickers or sticker residue on the inner sleeve.

THE RECORD: is in near excellent condition. It has remained very dark and glossy.

The matrix are: XEX 549 – 2 and XEX 550 – 2,

The mother/stampers are: ‘9 M D T’ and ‘ 1 8 A T O’,

THE AUDIO: plays very good++, it plays with some ‘crackle’ and some light ‘ticks’ here and there. The record plays with a full, loud period mono sound. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: side one is in excellent condition. Side two is in near excellent condition. There are NO letters embossed around the spindle holes. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
