BEATLES UK - Rubber Soul, rare ridged label, original mono.

PMC 1267, original 1965 mono yellow and black Parlophone labels.

A UK issue album in original condition, featuring:

1. side one, the record label has an unusual ‘ridge’ to it, it is now believed that these rare ridged labels were a result of EMI re employing old pressing machines,

2. side two on the label there are the letters ‘MT’ embossed around the spindle hole. Technically this is incorrect for a record made in 1965, as the ‘MT’ code was no longer used after July 1963, this inconsistency helps to tie in with the ridged label,

3. the record has EMI format mother / stampers,

4. on the rear of the sleeve there are some unusual, ‘blobs’ of original factory ink, that appear on one of the images of Paul, see photo.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent condition, the front of the sleeve is laminated. The spine is in very good++ condition and has remained clean and white and all of the text on the spine is clear to read. The rear of the sleeve has the period 1960s tri flipbacks design. The rear of the sleeve has remained clean for its age. There are NO tears, splits, pen writing, stains, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent condition and is the original ‘Use Emitex’ sleeve. The two opening edges have remained clean and unworn, an excellent well preserved sleeve. There are NO tears, splits, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE RECORD: is in very good+ condition. The record is made from the original 1960s thick, heavy vinyl. The record has remained very dark and glossy.

The matrix nos. are:  XEX  579  4  and  XEX  580  4,  

The mother / stampers are:   ‘ 48  R HT ’ and ‘ 4  R O D ’.

THE AUDIO: is very good++, it plays with relatively quiet grooves, but I did hear some light ‘ticks’ and ‘pops’, here and there. The record plays with an excellent full, clear, loud period mono sound. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: are in excellent condition. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
