BEATLES UK – Sentimental Journey, Ringo Starrs first solo album from 

1970, very first UK issue.

1970 PCS 7101 - Apple record labels.

A UK very first issue from 1970, in original condition, featuring:

1. very first UK issue record labels, as side one features a ‘dark green’ Apple colour and the wider ‘Sans Serif’ font,

2. very first UK issue matrix of ‘1U’,

3. early mother / stampers on side two, they are: ‘ 1 G G ’,

4. on the record label on side one, track six, the tracks title is spelt ‘Stardust’, ie one word, but on the rear of the sleeve, this track title is spelt with two words, ‘Star dust’ !,

5. on the record label on side two, track two, the tracks title is spelt ‘splendored’, but on the rear of the sleeve, this track title is spelt ‘splendoured’ !,

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in near excellent condition, the sleeve is laminated front and rear. The laminate has retained its original glossy finish. The original ‘thin’ spine is in excellent condition and has remained clean, white and straight and all the text on the spine is clear to read. There are NO stains, pen writing, splits, tears, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. To the front top right corner there is evidence of where a sticker has been removed, this has removed an area of the laminate and an area of the colour of the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent+ condition and is the original period EMI plain white sleeve with the printed text of, ‘Patent Nos 1,125,555’. The sleeve is made of the period quality, thick heavy grade paper and it has a textured surface on the inside of the sleeve. An excellent clean fresh, white sleeve. The two opening edges have remained very clean. There are NO tears, edge splits, stains, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE RECORD: is in excellent++ condition. The record is made from quality, period thick heavy vinyl. It has remained very dark and glossy and it doesn’t ‘look’ as if it has been played very much at all.

The matrix are: YEX 771 – 1U and YEX 772 - 1U, very first UK matrix,

The mother / stampers are: ‘ 1 L ’ and ‘ 1 G G ’, very early,

THE AUDIO: side one is excellent+, it plays with some light ‘ticks’ heard here and there but in general, side one plays with excellent quiet grooves. Side two plays excellent, it plays with some light ‘ticks’ heard here and there. Side two would benefit from a professional clean. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: side one is in excellent++ condition. As this is a very first UK issue, side one shows a DARK green ‘Apple’ colour. Side two is in near MINT condition. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
