Description
BEATLES UK – ‘Sgt Pepper’ LP, early 1970s, near MINT.
PCS 7027 – two EMI box Parlophone labels.
A UK album in 100% original condition featuring:
These pre oil crisis pressings from the very early 1970s are still made from thick, heavy vinyl and have ‘The Gramophone’ etc text around the edge of the labels. This copy still retains the original 1 / 1 matrix. The audio of these pressings sound every bit as good as the original first pressings.
CONDITION:
THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in near MINT condition and looks and smells as if it was bought yesterday !. The sleeve is fully laminated. The spine is in near MINT condition and has remained a brilliant clean white, all the text is crystal clear to read. The corners of the sleeve have remained sharp. There are NO splits, tears, stains, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. It would be very difficult to find a sleeve in better condition.
THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent++ condition and is the original red and white EMI advertising sleeve. The sleeve has NO pen writing, tears, splits, stains, stickers or sticker residue.
THE INSERT: the original green card insert is present and is in excellent++ condition. Theres NO pen writing, tears, stains, stickers or sticker residue.
THE VINYL: is in near MINT condition, it has remained very dark and very glossy, it looks like new. The vinyl is made from the period thick, heavy vinyl.
The matrix nos. are: YEX 637 – 1 and YEX 638 - 1, first press matrix !
The Mother/Stampers are: ‘ 2 A G A ’ and ‘ 1 R D M ’.
THE AUDIO: is excellent, the curious short section of sound that appears at the very end of the album, on side two is still present, as on first pressings. The vinyl lays flat on the turntable and plays well without any sticking or jumps from the needle.
THE LABELS: side one is in excellent++ condition, side two is in excellent condition. The text ‘The Gramophone’ etc is printed around the edge of the labels. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.
