BEATLES UK – WHITE ALBUM, 3rd PRESS, STEREO, Mispress.
1968 PCS 7067/7068 - APPLE RECORD LABEL.
An original UK Third pressing, circa 1970/71 in 100% original condition. This ‘side loading’ Stereo copy features a unique SIX digit serial number of ‘164552’.
Also the record label on Side Three features the spelling mistake of ‘ Northerin’ (should be Northern) see photos !.
Although this is a Third pressing, it is still a very early pressing as the publishing credits on the record labels for the George Harrison and Ringo Starr songs STILL appear under ‘Apple Publishing’.
CONDITION:
THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in very good condition, the sleeve is fully laminated. This is a side opening sleeve. On the front of the sleeve it has the wording ‘ The Beatles ’ embossed and a unique SIX Digit serial Number of ‘164552’. The condition of the spine is very good, there is some laminate rubbing wear, 80% of the text on the spine is readable. There is NO Pen writing, tears of stains. There is some edge rubbing wear to the Two bottom edges of the sleeve.
THE INNER SLEEVES: are in very good condition and are the RARE and rather nice original period white ‘Apple Recording’ inner sleeves. Each of the sleeves have some rubbing edge wear to Two of the folded edges. The sleeves have NO tears, or Pen writing on.
THE POSTER: is in very good++ condition and has remained fresh and white in colour. There are NO tears, stains, pin holes, sellotape or Blu-Tac residue.
THE PHOTOS: are in very good+ condition, they are glossy and made of thick card. The rear of the photos have remained clean and white. There are NO tears, pin holes, or Blu-Tac residue.
THE VINYL: record One and Two are in near excellent condition. The Two records are made from thick and heavy vinyl and are very dark and glossy.
The matrix nos. are: YEX 709 - 1, and YEX 710 - 1, YEX 711 – 1 and YEX 712 - 2.
The Mother / Stampers are: ‘ 5 G P O ’, and ‘4 G H P ’ and ‘ 1 G H R’ and ‘3 G H G ’.
THE AUDIO: on side One the audio is very good, the audio begins with some background crackle but improves into each track. On side Two Three and Four again there is some background crackle and the odd light click can be heard at times throughout play. I feel that the audio would improve with a professional clean as the playing surfaces are so good. The records lay flat on the turntable and play without sticking or jumping of the needle.
THE LABELS: are in excellent condition, Two sides show a MATT finish lighter Green Apple colours. As mentioned, as this is such an early pressing it still lists the George and Ringo songs as ‘Apple Publishing Ltd’. Record Two, side Three has a MISPRINT, the publishing credit for the song ‘Yer Blues’ has been misprinted as ‘ Northerin ’ Songs ’ ! (should have been spelt ‘ Northern ’ Songs.)
