BEATLES UK - WITH THE BEATLES 1st PRESS STEREO.

1963 PCS 3045 -  YELLOW AND BLACK PARLOPHONE LABEL.

A UK press album in 100% original condition, this is the very first  Stereo press of this LP, featuring  some interesting misprint / errors:

a. the first being on the sleeve, the track  ‘You really GOTTA hold on me’,  should have been spelt ‘GOT a hold’ !,

b. the second,  on the record label,  being  ‘Jobete’ for the publishing company for the track ‘Money’,   this was an error and was soon corrected !

c. the third, on the record label, again the ‘GOTTA’ spelling is there.

d. The vinyl does not have any ‘Mother’ stamps !,  stamped onto side Two,  the   ‘Stamper’  is there,   but NO ‘Mother’ !

CONDITION:

MAIN SLEEVE:  is in very good++ condition, housed in the correct early front laminated sleeve, with a large black ‘solid’ Stereo on the front.  It features a tri flipback design to the rear.  The spine and the flipbacks are excellent and all very strong, this is an excellent sleeve for its age and shows only light handling over the years.  The spine  is  perfectly clear  and all the text is 100% clear. The unlaminated rear of the sleeve is clean and white for its age, there is  NO  Biro writing,  or tears   a very original untouched original sleeve.  The sleeve features the incorrect spelling of ‘GOTTA’, for the track, ‘You really GOT a hold on me’.  

INNER SLEEVE: is in near excellent condition and is the original polylined  sleeve, it is very clean and white,  with No Biro writing,  tears or stains on.

VINYL:  side One  is in very good condition, side Two is in  near excellent condition,  the vinyl  is of the period sixties thick, heavy type, it is dark and has a high gloss.  The matrix nos. are:  YEX 110-2 and YEX 111-2, the Mother/Stampers are:  ‘ 2   H’  and on side Two is VERY unusual,  as there are NO  ‘Mother’ stamps,  stamped onto the vinyl !,   the ‘stampers’ at Three o’clock are   ‘  - !      GD’.

AUDIO:  The audio is very good and it plays really well all the way through, it lays flat with no jumps or skips.    On side One, there is  a scratch that runs into track Four, Five, Six and Seven, this produces a light  ‘tick’ heard between  the tracks,  otherwise it  cannot be heard.  

THE LABELS:  are  in near excellent condition,  there is a ‘KT’ embossed on side Two of the label.  The label on side Two lists the music Publisher for the track ‘Money’ as credited to ‘Jobete’  this was a misprint and was soon corrected.  Another misprint on side Two is the track  ‘You really got a hold on me’  is misprinted as ‘GOTTA hold on me’, again this was soon corrected to the correct spelling of ‘GOT a hold on me’  !.

Unfortunately as you  will see from my feedback,   I have received one neutral and one negative feedback recently.   This is due to the fact that I followed Ebay policy and reported  an Ebay member for non payment and in turn I have received these two pieces of feedback !, while this Ebay member carries on trading unaffected !,    I am disgusted that Ebay has let this happen !

To fairly grade the condition of the record, I am using the official grading system from the Record Collector Magazine.

Grading System

The seven standard condition categories and a description of what each one means are listed below:

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

+  or  – :  indicates a grading in between categories.
