BEATLES UK – ‘White Album’ Stereo third press with numbered sleeve.

1968 PCS 7067/7068 – apple record labels.

A UK third press side loading Stereo copy with a unique serial number of ‘ No. 161811 ’ circa early 1970, and featuring:

1. sides one and two of the record labels feature the line of text, ‘An EMI Recording’ on one line, but on labels three and four this line of text appears on two lines and is in brackets !,

2. normally these third press, numbered side opening sleeves feature a narrower spine, but this sleeve has a wider spine and it is uncrushed, it measures 7mm at its widest point,

3. to the top right front of the main sleeve it features a sticker, see photo, this sticker I believe is related to a ‘US import’.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent condition, the double album gatefold sleeve has a full glossy laminate. On the front it has an embossed Beatles logo and a unique individual SERIAL Number of No. 161811, this number appears VERY clear and bold. The uncrushed wide 7mm spine is in excellent condition and all the text can be read. When the sleeve is opened it is very glossy, clean and tidy. The rear of the sleeve is as clean as the front, excellent. The sleeve has remained an excellent clean white in colour. There are NO splits, tears, stains, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

THE INNER SLEEVES: are the two original APPLE white inner sleeves and are in excellent condition. The sleeves have the original ‘Apple Copyright’ text on them. There are NO splits, tears, stains, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

NOTE:  the original four photos and poster are NOT present.

THE VINYL: side one is in excellent+ condition, side two is in near MINT condition, if fact it is difficult to see any marks at all under normal daylight conditions, side three is in excellent++ condition and side four is in very good++ condition. The records have remained very dark and glossy, it is clear that they have not seen much play. The records are made of the original ‘thick and heavy’ vinyl.

The matrix nos. are: YEX  709 – 1,  YEX  710 - 1, YEX  711 - 2 and  YEX 712 - 2.

The Mother/Stampers are:   ‘ 6  G M D ’,    ‘ 2  G L D ’,  ‘ 1  G H P ’ and   ‘ 1   G O T ’.

THE AUDIO: is excellent, a near perfect audio with little to spoil the listening pleasure. Each record lays flat on the turntable and plays with NO jumps or sticking from the needle.

THE LABELS: label one is in MINT condition, label two is in excellent+ condition, label three is in near MINT condition and label four is in excellent++ condition, it is clear the records have not been played very much at all. As the labels are very early, labels one and three feature the original DARK green Apple colours. The George and Ringo songs are STILL listed under ‘Apple Publishing’. The labels are free from any pen writing, or any stickers or sticker residue.
