Description

BEATLES UK – White Album, original Mono numbered sleeve LP, rare 3 matrix.

1968 PCS 7067/7068 -  apple record labels.

A UK first pressing top loading Mono copy with a unique serial number of ‘ No. 0137773 ’ and featuring:

1. nearly all of these very first press Mono UK albums have the matrix ‘one’ etc.  I have never seen a matrix ‘two’ but on side three of this record set there is the matrix ‘three’,  unheard of !,

2. also on this side, side three, there is NO ‘Mother’ stamped onto the ‘run off’ !, again very unusual,

3. it is also unusual to find a ‘KT’ etc embossed on the labels on these first pressings, but on sides two and four, there appears the letters ‘KT’ on each label !.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent condition, the double album gatefold sleeve has an excellent, unscuffed glossy laminate. The sleeve has remained an excellent fresh white in colour. On the front it has an embossed Beatles logo and a unique individual SERIAL Number of No. 0137773, this number appears clear and bold. To the rear there is NO printed text, proving this to be a genuine MONO sleeve. The spine is in near excellent condition, there is the normal, slightly flaky laminate, all the text is clear to read on the spine. The sleeve features two visible flipbacks when the sleeve is opened, these flipbacks are all excellent and well stuck down. When the sleeve is opened it is very glossy, white, clean and tidy. The rear of the sleeve is excellent, very white, clean and glossy. There are NO splits, tears, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

THE INNER SLEEVES: the two original apple black inner sleeves are present, one is in excellent condition, with NO tears, splits. The other sleeve is in excellent condition with NO splits, with just two very small, ‘nicks’ around the ‘die cut hole’. The sleeves are free from any repairs, sellotape, stickers or sticker reside.

THE POSTER: the original poster is in excellent condition, a very clean, white well preserved poster.  Theres NO pen writing, tears, sellotape / residue, stains, pin holes, blue tack residue, stickers or sticker residue. The poster has some light wear to some of the folds.

THE PHOTOS: the original four photos are in excellent+ condition. The photos are made from the original thick card. Each of the photos have an excellent clean white rear. Theres NO pen writing, pin hole damage, sellotape residue, blue tack residue, stickers or sticker residue.

THE VINYL: side one is in near excellent condition, side two is in very good++ condition, side three is in excellent condition and side four is in very good++ condition. The records are made of the original ‘thick and heavy’ vinyl, they have remained very dark and glossy, super clean condition.

The matrix nos. are:   XEX   709 – 1,  XEX  710 - 1, XEX  711 – 3 near impossible to find ! and  XEX 712 - 1.

The Mother / Stampers are:   ‘ 2  9  G M P’,  ‘ 3  A G ’,   ‘ ?, NO ‘Mother’, very unusual ! and   ‘ G R D ’ and  ‘ 4  A R ’.

THE AUDIO: side one plays near excellent, it plays with some light crackle. Side two plays very good++, it plays with some light crackle and I did hear some light ‘ticks’ at the end of the track ‘Piggies’ and onto the first half of the track ‘Rocky Raccoon’. Sides three and four play near excellent, with some light crackle. Each of the records lay flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: side one is in excellent+ condition, side two is in excellent condition, side three is in near MINT condition and side four is in excellent condition. As this is a very first press two of the labels feature the original DARK green Apple colours. All the labels show the text ‘Sold in UK’ etc and ‘An EMI recording’, the George and Ringo songs are listed as ‘Apple Publishing’. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.
