Description
BEATLES UK – original Sgt Pepper and Abbey Road LPs.
Sgt Pepper – original UK Stereo first press, 1967 PCS 7027 – on the original black and yellow Parlophone labels.
CONDITION:
THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in very good+ condition, the sleeve is fully laminated, this laminate is very glossy. The original exposed two top flipbacks can be seen when the sleeve is opened. The spine is in very good+ condition, it is solid and strong and most of the text on the spine is clear to read. There are NO splits, tears, stains, stickers or sticker residue. Inside the sleeve to the top of the spine there are some small discrete initials written in pen.
THE INSERT: the cardboard ‘cut-out’ is not present.
THE INNER SLEEVE: is in very good++ condition and is the period black and white EMI advertising sleeve. There are NO tears, splits, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.
THE VINYL: side one is in near excellent condition, side two is in excellent condition. The vinyl is made of the period ‘thick, heavy’ vinyl, it has remained very clean, dark and glossy and doesn’t look as if it has been played very much at all. The matrix is: 1 / 1.
THE AUDIO: is excellent, one of the best audio playbacks I have heard for a long time, it plays with hardly any crackle, even the long fade out exit to ‘A day in the Life’ is relatively crackle free. The record lays flat on the turntable.
THE LABELS: side one is in excellent+ condition, side two is in excellent condition, the letters ‘K T’ are embossed around the spindle hole on side one. On label one there is an additional ‘dot’ that appears within the text, ‘Sold in UK’ etc as it reads ‘Sold in .U.K.’. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.
Abbey Road – early pressing, 1969 PCS 7088 - Apple record labels.
An early UK press album, featuring:
1. on side two of the record label the track ‘Her Majesty’ is not printed nor is it printed on the rear of the sleeve, but the track does play on the record !
2. the record has an early set of Mother / Stampers, being: ‘1 AP’ and ‘1 OT’.
3. the record label on side two, the white side of the apple has a more pronounced ‘brown apple core’ detail !.
CONDITION:
THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent+ condition, the sleeve is laminated front and rear. An excellent unscuffed glossy sleeve that has retained its four excellent sharp corners. The original thin spine is in excellent+ condition and all the text on the spine is clear to read. There are NO stains, pen writing, splits, tears, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.
THE INNER SLEEVE: is in near excellent condition and is the original EMI plain white sleeve with the text ‘Patent Nos. 1,125,555’ on. There are NO tears, splits, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.
THE VINYL: side one is in very good++ condition, side two is in excellent condition. The vinyl is made from the period thick, heavy vinyl. It has remained very dark and glossy. The Matrix is 2 / 1.
THE AUDIO: side one plays excellent, one of the best audios for side one I have heard. Side two plays also excellent but I did hear a slight ‘tick’ for the first minute on the track ‘Here comes the Sun’. Otherwise the audio plays with very little in the way of crackle. The record lays flat on the turntable.
THE LABELS: are in excellent condition. As this is an early pressing side one shows a DARK Green Apple colour. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.
