Description
BEATLES UK – Abbey Road LP, first press, mispressed misaligned apple logo sleeve.
1969 PCS 7088 - Apple record labels.
A UK very first press album in original condition, featuring:
1. a Misaligned APPLE logo mispress on the rear of the sleeve,
2. on side two of the record label the track ‘Her Majesty’ is not printed nor is it printed on the rear of the sleeve, but the track does play on the record !
CONDITION:
THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent+ condition, the sleeve is laminated front and rear. The original thin spine is in excellent+ condition and all the text on the spine is clear to read. As this is a very first pressing of this album it features the Apple logo on the rear of the sleeve misaligned, to the left !. EMI were quick to correct this and very soon the sleeves were changed and the Apple logo was correctly aligned with the song listing. There are NO stains, pen writing, splits, tears, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.
THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent+ condition and is the original EMI plain white sleeve with the text ‘Patent No. 1,125,555’ on. An excellent and well preserved sleeve that has remained an excellent clean fresh white in colour. There are NO tears, splits, stains, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. On one side to the top right there is a small discrete set of numbers written in blue pen.
THE VINYL: side one is in excellent condition, side two is in excellent+ condition. The vinyl is made from the period thick, heavy vinyl. It has remained very dark and glossy.
The Matrix are: YEX 749 - 2 and YEX 750 - 1,
The Mother/Stampers are: ‘6 M A T’ and ‘9 A D D’,
THE AUDIO: side one, the audio begins with a fair bit of crackle but improves after some minutes of play, the audio continues to improve so the later tracks play near excellent. I think if the record was given a professional clean, the audio would improve as the condition of the playing surfaces is so good. Side two plays the same as side one but the crackle at the beginning is to a lesser extent, so I will grade the audio on side two as near excellent. The record lays flat on the turntable.
THE LABELS: are in excellent+ condition and suggest very little play. As this is a very first pressing side one shows a DARK Green Apple colour. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
