THE BEATLES

WHITE ALBUM

PMC 7067 AND PMC 7068

MONO FIRST PRESS!!!

LOW NUMBER 0011317 (first day of issue)

'The Beatles' (more commonly known as 'The White Album' ) was released  43 years ago on 22nd November 1968.
Widely held to be one of the most influential albums of all-time, it was recently given the number one position in the '200 Rarest Records of All Time' by 'Record Collector' magazine.
The two-record set, housed in a plain white cover was designed by Richard Hamilton and each carried its own unique number stamped on the front cover.
Copies numbered 0000001 to 0000004 were originally given to the members of The Beatles themselves and as yet, none of these first four numbers have emerged onto the market. It is now hard to find any numbered albums. Numbers under 0100000 come at a premium and are very sought after and most are now in colletions all over the world. This is the lowest I have come across in the last few years.

I have played this in FULL> The replay is ASTOUNDING!!! I first played for a general listen and a second time for a more in-depth observation. Of course there are NO skips, jumps or sticks. Occasionally some light static can be heard but this should subside on subsequent spins. I played this on my Technics turntable with a Linn cartridge and through my very revealing B&W three way speakers!!!

Vinyl Disc 1: VG++ . Both surfaces are amazingly clean & bright and retain all of their 'as new' deep gloss shines on both sides, with no clouding or dulling to any area. There are a couple of hairlines visible on each side. These do not cause any trouble, the vinyl plays nicely through with strong audio performance. Static is only heard between songs on the silent grooves.

Close inspection in strong daylight reveals just a single 2.5cm light surface mark on side 1 and just three 2mm light marks towards the edge of side 2. However, these minor blemishes are not deep or feelable and have no effect on the sound.
Careful examination directly under my halogen desk lamp reveals a few insignifican hairlines consistent with infrequent removal from their matt-black inner-sleeves, but no further marks or wear.
Both sides lie 100% flat on the turntable with no signs or dishing or warping.

Absolutely great example of this extremely scarce glossy vinyl that has no problems. Sometimes a very light static which is hardly audible because of the powerful music. This is a heavy slab of beautiful glossy vinyl!!! A couple of the lightest hairlines on side 2 which are not audible. Of course NO jumps, NO sticks, NO heavy clicks.

Vinyl Disc 2: VG+. Again, both surfaces are clean, bright and glossy and bear no significant or major marks when viewed in strong daylight. Careful inspection directly under my halogen desk lamp reveals just some light marks and hairlines consistent with inner-sleeve storage and removal but certainly nothing I would call a scratch.
Both sides of this disc also lie 100% flat on the turntable with no signs or dishing or warping. Again NO jumps or sticks.

Gatefold sleeve: VG++.  The Beatles embossed to the front. Unique ultra low number indicating a FIRST DAY OF ISSUE vinyl. Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve. Fully laminated inside and out. Slightly yellowed but better than most I have seen. The inside gatefold is EX+. The spine has some wear. Light corner bumps. No writing, NO smudging.

Black original inner sleeves: VG+ to EX. Quite remarkably NO seamsplits that most of these always have. Just lightly creased on the corners.

Photos: EX. These have been sat in the sleeve and have not been hung. A great set of photos and complete!!!

Poster: VG++ with light creases.

Though there are rarely ever any problems with my items, I always try my very best to describe everything exactly!  PLEASE REMEMBER to contact me FIRST,  if you have any problems at all, before you leave feedback and star ratings, so I get a chance to turn any negative experience into a positive one!  I can always happily sort anything out for you, if you let me know you have a problem!  This way no one has to leave Negative/Neutral feedback - and we both walk away happy! Similarly with the amount of stars, anything less than a full 5 * rating is effectively detrimental to a seller's rating as lower ratings will incur higher Final Value Fees  and lower priority in the bidlists eventually making it unattractive to list items on Ebay at all. I know of at least one major previous Ebay seller who has decided not to list via Ebay again. Please do NOT bid if you cannot give me at least 1 chance to sort everything out to your FULL satisfaction in the unlikely event of a problem.  Thanks again!!
