Description

eachtohisown Store
This is a rare opportunity to obtain a complete UK mono 1st pressing of The Beatles White Album, with a low number and with all the contents looking great.

Please ignore the P&P shown above for this item. This is a double LP and will be charged as for 2 LPs using the prices further down in the listing.

Please check out my other items and take advantage of reduced postage costs for multiple buys.

I have a 100% feedback rating because my records are always described accurately and fairly. I grade my records based on the UK Record Collector grading system. Please make sure you understand the Record Collector grading system before bidding (a summary is included at the bottom of this description). I will always do my best to point out any blemishes which might detract from the item or affect its grading. Unless stated otherwise, vinyl is visually graded. The photographs in this listing are of the actual item you will get and have all been taken without a flash.

Detailed grading:

Original matt poster:  Never been hung on a wall and so no pinmarks, tears or sellotape etc. There are no tears or splits along the folds, just typical signs of handling and storage. Excellent(-) condition.

Original photographs: Never been hung on a wall and so no pinmarks, tears or sellotape etc, just some signs of handling and storage. Excellent(-) condition.

Original inner sleeves: No splits or tears and just a few tiny snags at the openings and very light creasing. Both inners in excellent condition.

Labels: There is no wear around the spindle hole and just typical spindle marking when the labels are tilted into the light. Note that these are the earliest labels and none of the labels have "An E.M.I. recording", and there are no blemishes or problems on any label (see photos). All four labels in excellent condition.

Vinyl: Both records are nice and flat with no warping and the vinyl looks to have been generally well looked after. I have inspected all four sides in daylight and under a 160 watt halogen spotlight and this has revealed a handful of marks and light scratches on each side. Based on this inspection I would grade all four sides in Very Good condition, or just under. Please do not bid if you want pristine, unmarked vinyl as you would be disappointed, but these are very respectable.

Sleeve. The fully laminated, top loading sleeve is complete and intact and has a low number 0063919. It is a mono sleeve and so does not have the word stereo stamped on the back. There is virtually no edge wear and the writing on the spine is still fully legible. There is no significant creasing or shaping around the record, only slight wear to the top openings and moderate wear to the corners. There are no tears, splits, ring wear or writing anywhere on the sleeve. The sleeve would grade quite highly apart from the fact that, like many copies, it has discoloured/yellowed a lot with age and so is no longer white. Please only bid if you understand the effects of the ageing process on the colour of this sleeve and are happy to have a sleeve that has yellowed/discoloured with age. Based on this I would grade the sleeve in very good condition. .

Edge wear: left edge/right edge/bottom/spine/top openings/corners: minimal/minimal/minimal/minimal/minimal/moderate

Detracting features not covered above - none.

The cost for this insurance will be at the buyer's expense and is an extra £4 in the UK and an extra £8 everywhere else (add these to the P&P costs below). Please note that for orders outside the EU I need to complete a customs declaration and must enter the value of the package on the declaration.

The Record Collector grading system

MINT:The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

CDs and Cassettes: As a general rule, CDs and cassettes either play perfectly - in which case they are in Mint condition - or they don't, in which case their value is minimal. Cassette tape is liable to deteriorate with age, even if it remains unplayed, so care should be taken when buying old tapes. CDs are difficult to grade visually: they can look perfect but actually be faulty, while in other cases they may appear damaged but still play perfectly. Cassette and CD inlays and booklets should be graded in the same way as record covers and sleeves. In general, the plastic containers for cassettes and CDs can easily be replaced if they are broken or scratched, but card covers and digipaks are subject to the same wear as record sleeves.

Thanks for your interest in this listing and for taking the time to read these details. Enjoy yourself on ebay and happy bidding!.
