This is a superb copy of the classic beatles album. A extremely rare ONE BOX Pressing, with great vinyl and FANTASTIC AUDIO

The Beatles second official L.P. release. Two weeks BEFORE release, "With The Beatles" had advance orders of 270,000, and before the first week of release was out, the half-a-million figure had been beaten. They were actually awarded a Silver disc (for sales of 250,000) on November 18th 1963, 4 days BEFORE release ! By mid January 1964 885,000 had been sold in the U.K. and by the end of 1964, the total was 980,000.

The ONE MILLION mark arrived by September 1965, making this album the FIRST EVER British album to sell 1,000,000 copies in the U.K. The American version of this album, Meet The Beatles bizarrely left off five of the tracks, but sold over 5 million copies. This makes combined sales for The Beatles second album of over 6.5 million.

Chartwise, this L.P. replaced "Please Please Me" at the number one slot, and remained there for 21 weeks. This gave The Beatles a continuous run of 51 weeks at the summit !_Also, in these early days of the British charts, ALL product was listed together regardless of format, and therefore this L.P. even made it into the U.K. singles chart, reaching number 11, which was a record placing for an album.

The cover was a very artful half-shadow black-and-white shot of The Beatles taken by Robert Freeman.

THE RECORD - EXCELLENT PLUS

A Stunning piece of glossy vinyl, just look at the labels to see how little this has been played. Extremely heavy, in daylight it looks entirely unmarked. Deep black with a mirror like sheen. Under a spot light there are a couple of the faintest hairlines, but they are extremely light and there is nothing to interrupt the sound. A really exceptionally clean and rare example

ALBUM PLAYED FOR GRADING:

Yes – brilliant! - EXCELLENT PLUS sound quality throughout

This great record plays up to the high visual grading and beyond . Strong, undistorted sound free of any pops or clicks. The record plays with staggering power, with a minimum of surface sound during the tracks. Superb sound quality throughout. I cannot stress how clear and strong this vinyl sounds. The only slight sound I heard were three very light pops at the start of 'Little Child', but they were hardly noticeable. On the whole NO pops, NO, clicks, NO distortion  or heavy static. Stunning  sound and extremely clear between the tracks. SUPERB!!

VINYL SOUND - Please Note:

Top quality vinyl with clear sound is rare, and is what I always aim for. Even with the cleanest copies you will find occasional static sound during playback, caused by a build of dust in the grooves. This is clearly different from the distortion, loud pops or clicks that are found on heavily played and worn pieces of vinyl. Any static build up will reduce when played, and I advise a light clean should be given between plays for optimal performance.

THE COVER – VERY GOOD PLUS

Original Ernest J. Day cover. This is an INCREDIBLY RARE NO LOGO cover, which also has the original triple Flip Backs on the rear, very rare for ONE BOX pressings. 

Being the second Beatles album, it is extremely hard to find With the Beatles covers in anything like decent condition. This is a strong example with only light corner wear and some creasing to the laminate.

With the Beatles covers have to be one of the most prone to wear, of all the classic Beatles vinyls from the sixties. The laminate is prone to cracking and lifting, with serious ring wear and destruction to the edges. The unlaminated back is usually heavily marked and The Spines are nearly always flattened, worn and un readable. Not this one!

There is some light scuffing to the corners, but no rubbing along the edges. The opening edges are very square and totally un frayed. The white areas are very white, with very few blemishes. The back cover is nice and clean, with no discernible ring wear, which is very unusual for these delicate covers.

The Spine does show some wear, with a couple of cracks, but the spine text is totally intact, and is a very square examples. There are also some laminate cracks on the front, but the cover still has a lovely deep black sheen.  All round, this is a nice cover, what no tears, or writing or heavy stains. A solid example!

THE LABELS - NEAR MINT CONDITION

Both labels are in NEAR MINT CONDITION, with only the lightest of spindle traces and virtually no wear around the spindle hole. Wonderful examples of this rare classic press.

THE INNER

Comes with The Original UK Press Inner Sleeve with Polythene Lining, intact and in great condition. EXCELLENT PLUS condition, NO tears around the die cut openings, and NO wear at the tops. Crisp and Clean, - a lovely example.

RARITY

A ONE BOX PRESS of With the Beatles in this type of condition is scarce. The vinyl is so often played so much, heavily marked, scratched, with noisy, poor and distorted sound. Anyexamples with a record in this type of condition, that plays really well is very rare.

FIRST UK Silver and Black original pressings of With the Beatles are getting rarer by the day. Finding one in all round nice is extremely rare, and one with the Original NO LOGO flip back cover makes this a very rare opportunity indeed.

Static caused by dust in the grooves of the vinyl, is not the same as mechanical damage to the vinyl, i.e. a tick or jump caused by a deep scratch or chip.

MY RECORD GRADING SYSTEM IS AS FOLLOWS - (BASED ON RECORD COLLECTOR MAGAZINE U.K. )

MINT: Virtually unplayed. The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. Cover is pristine.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

V.G PLUS: The record will still be nice and shiny, but may have a few light marks, and will play well. Slight wear and tear on the cover.

V.G: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, etc.

FAIR: Fair. It is noticeable that the record has been played so much that the sound quality has deteriorated very noticeably. The cover and contents are showing signs of folding, scuffing of edges etc.
