THE BEATLES: 1969 (Taiwan CSJ 791/792, a/k/a The White Album)

• Condition : Cover is VG++ to EX, about as clean as possible for one of these vintage Taiwanese pressings, the cover is made of thin paper slicks encased in a "gatefold" made of thin plastic. Just some storage wear to the plastic itself, I doubt a cleaner example exists. Vinyl is VG++ to EX, I hesitate to grade these notoriously cheesy pressings NM but there are really just a few minor scuffs, likely from the plastic cover here. Plays with some surface noise as all of these pressings do. Black vinyl; I've no idea if colored wax exists for this issue.
• Description : Rare 1969 2LP original Taiwanese (or Chinese) pressing of "The Beatles", a/k/a The White Album, apparently retitled "1969". Evidently the whole "White Album" concept escaped the folks at CSJ as this cover is not white at all! Labels show album titles as "Beatles Vol. 1" and "Beatles Vol. 2". Interestingly, the "Dear Prodence" mistake on side one label is the only spelling error I found. Cover is the usual plastic-encased Taiwan cover. This has the pocket openings at right, but the cover hinges open at the BOTTOM (in other words, the "spine" is along the bottom seam of the front cover and the cover opens poster-style). The front cover has a blue background with poor reproductions of the 4 pinup posters as the cover artwork, with the tracklist in a seemingly handwritten column at right with Chinese characters above. Back cover has some b&w shots from one panel of the poster, with smaller blue monochrome versions of the 4 pinup pics again appearing below, and Chinese charcaters along the bottom edge. The inner gatefold reproduces the "lyrics" side of the poster, in a smaller size so everything will fit (this appears to have been a photographic reduction of the poster itself, no type was reset) with Chinese charcaters along the bottom right panel. This should be obvious, but this pressing did not include the poster or prints found in other countries.
• I've never heard a proper explanation of these CSJ pressings of 1960s rock albums- I had always assumed they were not authorized, and manufactured in Taiwan to be marketed to U.S. servicemen stationed in Asia. (It's highly unlikely, for instance, that these were pressed in Mao-era mainland China for domestic sale). However, this LP appears to have been pressed from UK-origin pressing plates! There are Chinese characters and some other numbers hand-etched in the dead wax but the most obvious markings are the typical EMI type machine stamped matrix numbers, which are as follows (I'm noting ONLY the machine-stamped info, as best I can read it, the other stuff is not noted): Side one: YEX-709 1S I2, opposite this are two stamper letters, may be VC (or YG...hard to read!). Side two: YEX-710 1S2. Side three: YEX-711 1S 11, opposite this is what looks like 811 (or could be BH, hard to read). Side four: YEX 712 1S2. Also, all four sides are unbanded. No reserve, but this must be fairly rare, I've never seen another!

NOTE: shipping to Mexico is the same cost as to Canada, and shipping to South America is the same cost as to Europe, generally. Ebay's lsting format does not let me break out South America separately from Mexico and Canada for shipping costs so it appears as though I don't ship there, but I do. I ship WORLDWIDE.
• GUARANTEE: Condition of this item is guraranteed to be as stated in the above description. Grading is strict and visual. All used LP's are cleaned on a Loricraft machine before grading. Sorry, I do not guarantee "musical content". If you are going to bid high on an unfamiliar album, consider first checking out the sounds online or via a reissue, etc in order to avoid potential disappointments. You cannot return a record simply because you don't like the music.
• Records are shipped in a cardboard record mailer with sufficient padding, and the disc is removed from the jacket to prevent seamsplits.

If you are looking for a specific song, inquire with the name of the song, I'll check ASAP to see if it's on the LP and reply promptly, but I don't have time to type out the names of every track, sorry to say. Also, sorry but requests from underbidders along the lines of "I didn't win, could you A) dub the record to CD for me B) ask the high bidder to dub the record to CD for me or C) give me the winner's email so I can ask" are ignored due to legal and privacy concerns.

OVERSEAS: the cheaper shipping option on your invoice (First Class Mail International) does not include insurance or tracking. With FCMI service, Registered Mail (includes tracking number and requires your signature upon delivery) is available for $10.80 extra per parcel; if you want Registered Mail added to your FCMI parcel, ask. The higher price option on your invoice (Priority Mail International) includes a tracking number and, to most countries, around $80 in insurance coverage, as part of the shipping cost. However, Registered Mail service is not available with Priority Mail International service.
