(PMC 7027)
Dead wax info is as follows:
Side 1 : XEX 637-1 (1-MAP)
Side 2 : XEX 638-1 (6?-MAR)
This is the rare first press uk mono issue in fantastic near mint condition, one of the best copies i have seen as it plays virtually mint!!! and has the rare "patents pending" cover
The Garrod & lofthouse patents pending laminated gatefold cover is very clean and grades Near mint, with No tears, stickers, writing or ring wear. There is no laminate lifting/crinkling and just a couple of small half moon creases on the back. The corners have no rubbing and the inside of the cover is clean
The original red/white inner sleeve has no splits just a little aeging
The cut-outs are perfect
The black/yellow labels which have "The gramophone co" and "sold in uk" text and have no stamp code are virtually perfect with no spindle hole damage or wear..fantastic!!!
The record lies flat with no warp and has full gloss and shine with no groove wear or scratches. When you first look at it,it looks MINT/UNPLAYED but under a very strong light you can see just a few of the lightest paper scuffs probably caused by removing the record from the inner sleeve, grades Mint-.From the quiet run on all the tracks play fantastic with no sound distortion and no lessening in the mono sound quality. The tracks sound MINT with no loud crackles, clicks or pops and it does not stick or jump, there is just a tiny bit of static crackle in the last couple of seconds of the song "fixing a hole" which goes onto the band before the next track
