Description
This is all round an outstanding example of this album; the incredibly rare Decca cut. Firstly I will qualify the EXCELLENT grading above. There are lightest superficial marks but only one mark that sounds. Otherwise the record plays like a dream, very clean, hardly any background noise even between tracks. However that one mark make does make 30 audible ticks on side one running from end of track 2 through to track 3; less evident where the music is fuller. Otherwise there are no other reservations to the grading.
This is an original 1963 FOURTH pressing Parlophone LP with "THE PARLOPHONE." and "RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED 1963" label text BUT it has the DEEP GROOVED labels (like the early Decca LP`s). This would have been contracted out to Decca records because of the overwhelming demand for the LP. Also there is a much smaller groove ring around the spindle hole; it’s much smaller than a parlophone pressing. I’VE DONE MY HOMEWORK THIS IS A GUARANTEED ORIGINAL DECCA CONTRACT PRESSING
This is one of the BEST COPIES you’ll ever see!!!
The original laminated ERNEST J DAY flipback cover is quite outstanding. The front has "LARGE MONO" in the top right corner shines with only a handful of minor laminate creases. The colours are bright and vivid, the faintest wear on 3 corners, just a little more on the bottom opening corner. Edges are all RAZOR SHARP with the lightest signs of bumping and minor laminate creasing. There are NO TEARS OR WRITING. Most of the sheen is near mint (my picture just about captures it) but there is some minor rubbing at the leading half circle coinciding with the album inside. The back is very slightly yellow towards the edges. My pictures, though not of the highest resolution, are honest and true. (Originals emailed upon request for greater clarity though still only 2 pixies.) Flipbacks are super crisp with the lightest of small creases only noticeable as you tilt the sleeve in the harshest light. The spine looks VIRTUALLY NEW! The seams are solid with NO SPLITS! Altogether a SPLENDID example!
The record is made from thick quality vinyl. It is in great condition. I’ve lead my description with my only reservation to the excellent graded condition above. It has a magnificent gloss I have tried to capture on camera, no groove wear, and looks great even under strong light. The labels are very clean with the lightest of "spider" marks around the holes from obviously careful use and no parties, well not very lively ones!
I have played the LP and the music jumps right at you!! I can only compare it to the first time I heard LOVE ME DO burst out of my Ferguson transistor radio! All that guff they used to say about hearing more on CD. This DECCA CUT in this prime condition redefines your experience of this album.
