Description
This is a 1971 JOHN LENNON solo 45 record released ONLY in the Philippines on the Apple label. This is an original 1971 issue. The record features the songs POWER TO THE PEOPLE and OPEN YOUR BOX (sung by Yoko) and….. it is a rarity issue listed by THE BEATLES - featuring John Lennon! Of course it is John’s solo work, not a secret track by the group!!
Note 1: there are 10 known Philippines Beatles solo singles by George, John, and Ringo, none by Paul, listed with The Beatles as the primary artist!! So, it is kind of a rarity record with mis-titled Beatles credit, not too many of these worldwide!
Note 2: there is another later Philippines Parlophone 45 featuring this song combo but with an alternate issue number PAL-61189, but NO Beatles credit, and listed Stereo! Lots of rarities to search for!!
This record comes in a US Beatles On Apple sleeve to add interest and value, and this is a high-fidelity import with MONO sound! The record is a black vinyl 7" 45rpm disc. This vinyl disc is graded VG+, some scuffs and marks but fully collectable, especially with the Lennon rarity track!!
Note 3: DISCLOSURE: THERE IS A SMALL WARP ALONG THE OUTER EDGE, MORE NOTICABLE ON THE “OPEN YOUR BOX” SIDE. Does not effect play!
