Offered is this sealed monophonic copy of The Beatles release, Songs, Pictures and Stories of the Fabulous Beatles, with the 3/4 gatefold cover, Vee-Jay 1092.
This album was sold with a loose-fitting poly bag cover rather than the normal shrink wrap. Most of these were sold by Sears, but there is no indication of who sold this one. The round price sticker is original. There is a round purple sticker in the upper right corner. That was probably put there by the store as part of a color coding system. Both stickers are outside the bag.
The record is assumed to be mint or near mint, but it's obviously impossible to grade it. It is possible to see the edge of the inner sleeve, and it appears to be a plain white sleeve.
This album has considerable abrasion wear to the bag. In some cases, the abrasion has gone through the plastic with resulting wear to the cover inside. There is an area or wear just to the right of the VJ 1092 label on the front, the black color has worn through at the corners and at random spots along the edges. Otherwise, the corners are crisp without bruising.
I don't see any evidence of seam splits or record warpage. There are a few puncture holes in the bag along the edges and some wear to the cover can be seen where the holes are. There are no cut corners or cut-out holes.
In summary, I grade the cover as Excellent (VG++) with minor wear and no major issues.
No return will be accepted if the album has been opened.
This will be shipped priority mail with a signature required on receipt. I do not use media mail because of slow delivery and the possibility of tampering by the post office.
It will be shipped in a Bags Unlimited "Mighty Music Mailer", which gives outstanding protection, especially to the corners.
