You are bidding for a truly early original mono 1st UK pressing of their great double album from 1968. This is a nice low numbered example and is complete with all its correct inserts.  Please refer to all the photos and to the description below and if you have any questions or concerns then email me before you bid. Dark green Apple labels..

Without 'An E.M.I. Recording' credit printed on any of the labels..

With 'Sold in U.K. subject...' etc. at top of labels.

COVER - Top opening Garrod & Lofthouse fully laminated gatefold cover is EXCELLENT+. Beautiful undamaged off-white panels , all laminate is intact, all flipbacks inside are perfect. No feathering to the opening edges of the pockets.  Spine laminate is in excellent condition, overall it's pretty hard to fault. Unique serial number 0091561 clearly stamped.

BLACK INNERS SLEEVES -  the die-cut centre originals are in EXCELLENT condition, a few storage/handling creases only. No edge splits. No repairs.

LABELS - EXCELLENT ..Undamaged, moderate signs of spindle travel but it's only minor.

4 PHOTOS -  EXCELLENT+ with blank spacer/protective sheet on top photo to stop it rubbing against  the inner sleeve or panel.  No pin-holes, no stains, no fading, no tears.

POSTER (with lyrics on reverse side) - EXCELLENT condition . Garrod & Lofthouse original with the 'lipstick' imprint . No pinholes, no celotape. Light crease wear where 4-folded in centre in two areas. One tiny edge 'nick' the size of an ant.

VINYLS - Side 1 plays EX /Side 2 plays VG/Side 3 plays VG+/Side 4 plays VG+   ....Playing surfaces were initially examined under magnification. Visually the playing surfaces are quite bright with some hairlines, a few surface rubs and some tiny marks/flecks on each side but nothing deemed 'life threatening' or that significantly affected playback. Sides 3 & 4 have more signs of light surface marks than sides 1 & 2. The album would probably benefit from machine cleaning (MOTH ,VIP or other).

All four sides were fully play tested TWICE. No loud clicks/major pops, no skips/jumps. Below I have objectively scored each track out of 10 with supporting comments to provide a better indication of what you are bidding on. Scores and comments are purely my opinion but they will give you a clearer picture of its playability and audio quality. Do not be put off by my use of the word 'noises' (some sellers call it 'static'), it's mainly very light and mostly unobtrusive to the overall listening experience. There is no nasty audio distortion. Remember , this is a 45 year old album which has been played as it was meant to be but has been well cared for as an overall package. The areas 'in between tracks' and the quieter tracks/ passages demonstrate most surface noises ranging from 'static-like'  to 'a few light crackles' . The actual music tracks themselves play very well. I cannot be any more honest and detailed with my description which is to be read as a guide only. Please read on.....

Rocky Raccoon...8.5/10.. some faint noises at end leading into->

Why Don't We Do It In The Road... 8/10..some mild noises at end leading into->

I Will.... 8.5/10... a quiet track with some mild surface noises at the end into->

Julia... 8/10..   another quiet track with some sporadic light surface noises incl. run-off

SIDE 3. = some faint crackle on blank run-in leading into->

Birthday... 8.5/10..  1-2 minor low-level clicks noted for two revolutions

Yer Blues... 9.5/10..

Mother Nature's Son... 9/10 .. some very faint noise at start

Me & My Monkey... 9.5/10

Sexy Sadie... 9/10... a couple of static-like noises at start

SIDE 4. = very minor noise on blank run-in for a couple of revolutions (get it?)

Revolution 1... 9/10 .. a few brief sporadic noises

Honey Pie ...  8/10.. some light surface noises mainly at start, couple at end

Record Gradings

MINT = VINYL should be unplayed, undamaged, possibly still sealed in shrinkwrap. Should play without fault.   PAPER INSERTS i.e.  booklet, lyric sheet or poster should be perfect.

EXCELLENT = VINYL has been played but very well cared for, may have some hairlines or feint paper grazes on playing surfaces but none which are significantly audible although perhaps the occasional micro-noise similar to static may be present. COVER may have extremely light general wear or light corner fold but no rips/splits or repairs. INSERTS, BOOKLETS etc should be clean and undamaged.

VERY GOOD = VINYL has been played many times but plays well without major deterioration in sound quality. Playing surfaces may have some marks and  light superficial scratches which will be lightly audible . COVER may have general signs of usage and storage without significant damage e.g. edge or corner wear. INSERTS,BOOKLETS etc may have light staining and/or the occasional small tear but nothing major. All printed text shoud be legible.

GOOD = VINYL will be heavily played with noticeable surface marks and/or scratches which will be audible, possibly throughout. No skips or jumps despite the prescence of crackles, clicks and pops. COVER AND INSERTS may have any of the following ; visible creases, edge scuffs, stains, annotations, splits, repairs and discolouration. The cover should be complete with no pieces missing.
