NUMBERED 0317692 ORIGINAL DOUBLE LP-STEREO

This is an auction for a rare and highly sought after 1968 original UK double LP in stereo by The Beatles called "The Beatles" (AKA "The White Album"). Catalogue number PCS 7067 / 7068

Has all the indicators of a first pressing with dark green apple labels with "Sold In The UK" text.

Matrix / Mother / Stamper:

Side 1: YEX 709-1 / 2 /  O  - Side 2: YEX 710-1 / 3 /  RL - Side 3: YEX 711-1 / 4 / PM  - Side 4: YEX 712-1 / 0 / LT

The top opening Garrod & Lofthouse laminated gatefold sleeve is in very good condition with some some corner and ringwear and a couple of laminate thumb creases near the entrance on the laminate. There is some age discolouration. The flipbacks within the gatefold are intact. The spine has some rubbing, hairline laminate splits at the top and bottom of the spine where the sleeve has been opened and closed (A common occurance on this album sleeve), text is legible. 

The original black inner sleeves are present. One has a 10 cm side split, the other has no noticable major defects so considered in good condition.

The vinyl is in overall good+ / very good- condition, visually it shows some noticable surface scuffing and a couple of small marks that cause a couple of clicks. Some background crackle evident. No skips or jumps.

Includes original poster in reasonable condition, handling wear, no splits, writing, stains etc. No photos

I always use Record Collector gradings as follows:

MINT

The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT

The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD

The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD

The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR

The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR

The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD

The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

CDs & CASSETTES

As a general rule, CDs and cassettes either play perfectly - in which case they are in Mint condition - or they don't, in which case their value is minimal. Cassette tape is liable to deteriorate with age, even if it remains unplayed, so care should be taken when buying old tapes.

CDs are difficult to grade visually: they can look perfect but actually be faulty, while in other cases they may appear damaged but still play perfectly. Cassette and CD inlays and booklets should be graded in the same way as record covers and sleeves. In general, the plastic containers for cassettes and CDs can easily be replaced if they are broken or scratched, but card covers and digipaks are subject to the same wear as record sleeves.

My postage costs are supplied without insurance and I will send the goods as standard unless requested to do so by the buyer. I always receive proof of postage when sending any goods. I am not liable for any unforeseen problems that may occur after the goods have left my possession. If requested I will supply as much information as I can to help the buyer with any problems.

It is the buyer’s responsibility to request an alternative postage method and / or insurance cover. This will be at the buyer's own extra expense.
