Please be aware that every butcher cover is like a diamond - rarely are two ever alike in all the investment features they offer.   RARELY have we ever had a near perfect butcher.  Each cover has its strengths and weaknesses.  We strive to keep the latter at a minimum.  I can tell you butchers of this quality are hard to come by!  This is an outstanding offering.

 THE COVER: 

Truly Fabulous LA #6 Mono Butcher Cover

The colors on this butcher are vibrant, sweet, and bold.  Los Angeles butchers have that real pretty bright blue tint to them that makes them unique.  As with virtually all of our butchers, the pictures below allow you to see the incredible fine dot matrix texture of the original butcher slick that has been exposed.   Often times, excessive glue residue from amatuer peels, or very difficult to peel butchers makes this detail hard to see.  Excessive glue residue also dulls the color of the butcher giving  a yellowish cast to the overall color.  That is not an issue here.  Los Angeles covers do often have the unique tell-tale sign of light rings near the mouth of the butcher image.  That is indelible and unique to their repasting process and was caused by assembly line suction cups.  The rings on this cover are at an absolute minimum, and do not deter from the overall beauty of the cover. 

The color on this butcher is way above average in what we see on LA's, and is eye catching and vivid. Look at the finite detail of that dot matrix printing in the photos!  These dot matrix lithos have a unique hue to them that makes a butcher cover look even more magical in person.  AND -THERE ARE NO TOUCH UPS OR FLAWS FROM PEELING ON THE BUTCHER COVER IMAGE! The detail is stunning. 

The edges on the border surrounding the butcher image are a beautiful clean white as they were protected all of those years by the original shrinkwrap.  ONCE AGAIN, THIS OFFERING INCLUDES THE PRESERVED ORIGINAL FACTORY SHRINKWRAP. The seams are all in rock solid condition with no splits, cracks, harsh wear. All of the spine print is in great condition (see pics). 

The printing on the back is all there, bold and black, and contrasts very nicely with the bright white of the surrounding cover. Most butchers do not have a nice white back panel, but rather one that is yellowed or has writing on it.  The only issue on this cover was the presence of some light staining on the back mouth's edge that was probably caused by some type of liquid (that is why we peeled this one!) That has been treated and restored as well as possible, and a picture of the back cover results is included in the photo section.  There is also a minute amount of the same reddish tint that bled over on the very top right corner of the butcher.  It too has been minimized to the point of not being noticeable.  Neither issue is major, but the only minor flaws that keep this butcher from our designation of WORLD CLASS!    See the pics and check it all out!    The photos tell it all - extremely clean and white. This is one really nice butcher!  Just a gorgeous classic cover to show off in your office, den, or music gallery!

This offering also includes a near perfect and creamy white peeled Yesterday and Today slick that can be framed with your butcher. It looks brand new!

THE LP IS A FULL GLOSS VG++ to NM- ON THE VINYL.  THE RAINBOW LABELS ARE NM-.  THESE LP's ARE ABOUT AS DIFFICULT TO FIND NM AS THE BUTCHER COVER ITSELF.  THIS LP HAS BEEN CLEANED ON A VPI RECORD CLEANER, BUT I WILL NOT GUARANTEE IT WILL PLAY NM .  ALSO INCLUDED IS AN ORIGINAL ORANGE CAPITOL 66 INNER SLEEVE MAKING THIS A COMPLETE 1966 CAPITOL RECORDS YESTERDAY AND TODAY BUTCHER PACKAGE.
