"CLEAR SPOT"
US W/L Reprise Promo
*** GENUINE MINT ***
YES!!!! You ARE READING CORRECT>>>> On offer HERE... is a AN EXTREMELY "RARE" Original US 1972 Pre RELEASE W/Label Promo LP (especially in this condition!!!) by CAPTAIN BEEFHEART & THE MAGIC BAND called 'CLEAR SPOT' w "EMBOSSED" CLEAR SPOT Logo on ESPECIALLY MADE "PVC SLEEVE" THIS LP IS UNMISTAKINGLY ***ULTRA RARE!*** AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND IN UK!!!! IN FACT, THIS IS ONE OF THE "HARDEST TO FIND" IN ANYWHERE "NEAR MINT" CONDITION ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD... DUE TO THE THE FACT IT CAME IN THIS INCREDIBLY "FRAGILE" PACKAGING AND VIRTUALLY NEVER TURNS UP FOR SALE UK OR EUROPE UNLESS SLEEVE IS "FALLING APART" AND VINYL "SEVERELY SCRATCHED" DUE TO THE FACT IT HAD "NO INNER SLEEVE!!!!" JUST TRY AND FIND ANOTHER ONE IN THIS CONDITION!!!! BACK IN 1972 WHEN THIS LP WAS FIRST RELEASED - I CAN REMEMBER THE JOY AT FIRST BUYING THIS IN "ALAN FREEMANS" RECORD STORE IN MY HOME TOWN WHERE I LIVE TODAY... AND RUSHING AROUND TO MY FRIENDS TO TELL "IT HAD ARRIVED!!!!" A NEW MAGIC BAND LP WAS ALWAYS THE HIGHLIGHT OF MY YEAR BUT THERE WAS SOMETHING SPECIAL ABOUT THIS LP - AND WHEN YOU FIRST HEARD THAT BASS COME IN ON "CLEAR SPOT" IT SENT SHIVERS AROUND THE ROOM - I KID YOU NOT!!!! IT SOLD QUITE WELL, AND DON WAS ACCUSED OF SELLING OUT!!!!! ( IN FACT WE WERE TO FIND THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED "A FEW YEARS LATER!!!!") DON AFFECTIONATELY REFERRED TO THIS LP AT THE TIME - AS HIS "LOVE" ALBUM, AND IT WAS APPARENTLY WRITTEN IN A "TWO & A HALF HOUR" JOURNEY BETWEEN HARVARD & YALE UNIVERSITY. THE PRODUCTION ON THIS LP IS EXCELLENT AFTER A SLIGHTLY "MUDDY" SPOTLIGHT KID - WITH CRISP GUITAR WORK FROM "ZOOT" THRUOUT!!!! (BUT OF COURSE YOU KNOW ALL THIS!!!!) AS A RESULT IT IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND INCREDIBLY HARD TO LOCATE ANYWHERE!!!! The Cat. No is WB MS 2115 on the White "STEAMBOAT" ORIGINAL REPRISE RECORD Label and is a US Stereo WHITE LABEL DJ Promo - PROMOTION - NOT FOR SALE!!!!.
The record label is in PERFECT condition with NO wear, with NO writing, NO spindle marks!!!! The vinyl is really in PRISTINE condition!!!! Most of these 60s/70s LPs had been to a lot of 'heavy sessions' (MAN!) and are usually found totally worn out, and almost unplayable. This one is NOT!!!! It has NO scratches, (possibly played?) I THINK NOT!!!! - You cannot see any handling marks (which on 'this' LP is UNHEARD OF!!!!!"
- ITS AS SIMPLE AS THAT!!!! THE RECORD STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL JUST PRESSED LOOK AND LOOKS SUPERB!!!! It is also GREAT to find that the record plays as STUNNINGLY as the visual!!!! (SORRY I JUST HAD TO PLAY ONE TRACK!!!!) The record plays with NO pops, NO sticking, NO jumps, NO crackle!!!! The sound quality is simply SUPERB with NO distortion. I am not a DEALER - Some of these records I've been listing recently are my PRIZED POSSESSIONS and I will just not let them go CHEAPLY!!!!To each his own but I think it is in STEREO that you can really enjoy this BEEFHEART LP...
THE NICEST thing is the COVER!!!! The LP looks "BRAND SPANKING NEW!!!!" It has only 'minute' slight edge' wear pssibly 5cm (NO 'touching in'- NO sellotape!!!!)
There is No "RING WEAR" on FRONT of COVER Whatoever!!!! - The DOUBLE SIDED Card Insert looks as if it was Printed "YESTERDAY!!!!" It is one of the BEST COVERS I've EVER seen of a US Original!!!! - It seem all WORDWIDE Presses of this LP suffer from TERRIBLE 'ring wear' and 'creases' - Thumb-marks from pulling the INSERT in & out!!!! (This cover is VERY flat looking!), NO rubbing AT ALL. The opening edge is beautifully straight with NO grubbiness, The cover must also grade N/M!
THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND SIMPLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS ULTRA RARE OPPORTUNITY - I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT THIS LP CAME FROM A US DJ WHO WAS ALSO A "SERIOUS COLLECTOR" IN THE '60s & 70s' WHO NEVER PLAYED HIS LPs AND DECIDED TO SELL HIS COLLECTION OF PRIZED VINYL!!!!!!
IT really is a GREAT looking LP and if you've ever longed to own an ORIGINAL copy of this LP then bid on this! It is truly rare to find any copies of this MEGA RARE LP in THIS CONDITION!!!! THIS WILL BE YOUR ONLY CHANCE TO BUY THIS "37 YEAR OLD LP" IN BEAUTIFUL probably UNPLAYED CONDITION!!!! - I have done my best to tell you what your buying.
