Description
The classic late 40s and early 50s recordings of Toscanini doing all nine Beethoven symphonies, on RCA Italiana: "Le Nove Sinfonie di Beethoven". Recorded with the NBC symphony orchestra. This is, I believe, the earliest issue of the complete recordings on LP. US and English pressings are not until about 1958, and I think this was issued in 1957. Anyhow it is a limited edition, bound in a lovely leather album, each copy numbered. This one is 965.
The cover is a little worn, especially at the edges and the top and bottom of the binding. But it is entirely intact, untorn and solid. There is a 23-page booklet incorporated into the album leaves. All in Italian. The discs are pretty much NM... as if they have never been played. And the sound is fantastic! These older recordings are so wonderful... Anyhow this is the nicest edition of these classic recordings you are likely to see.
