If you're reading this you might know Pro Arte String Quartet is the University of Wisconsin at Madison faculty quartet. If you're reading this I hope you know about dbx encoding, and have a Type II dbx noise reduction box. Without, this will sound like garbage. With a dbx decoder, except for one flaw within the second minute of movement one, you might be convinced you're listening to a CD. This recording is a "close remote" and sounds fantastic throughout. The flaw sounds like a momentary burst of distortion. It's not any moment that's louder than the music, but you'll know it. Visually, the LP looks mint, and it sounds like it as well. The sleeve cover claims this is the first recorded performance of the original version of String Quartet No.2, revised to Op18 No1. There's an extensive, six-page insert examining most of the themes used in this composition. It's rather thick stock, kind of parchment paper. The inner sleeve is poly-lined paper in very good condition. An excellent overall package. International shipping is by E-Bay International. (Not me.) Plan on at least $23 USD.
