Superb and highly sought-after performance of Beethoven by the acclaimed Barylli Quartet, with Wilhelm Huebner on 2nd viola. This record is from an inventory of 1950s Westminster records from a New York City collector. Unusual to find so many of these rare titles up for sale at once! Great clarity and brightness for a record of this age.
CONDITION:
COVER: VG+/VG: Flat and in great shape. 2.5” seam split on bottom and spine is completely split but tight. Small marks and wear (bump to top right, see photo).
LABELS: Side 1— EX ~ Side 2— VG+ with mark from old sticker
VINYL: VG+/VG: both sides glossy with small marks and scuffing. Vinyl plays very well, with light surface noise and pops. Some occasional short playing marks, (hence /VG).
PLEASE NOTE: Due to pressing practices at the time these early Westminster LPs tend to have noticeable surface noise, even if visually NM. These records are being sold in the condition they were acquired and would likely benefit from a professional cleaning. They are best played with mono cartridges, which will reduce noise. As I do not have a mono setup, I am grading the records conservatively with a stereo cartridge.
