Description
This is the "BELLS, BOOTS & SHAMBLES" 1973 UK LP by SPIROGYRA, a very early 1st Press release on the POLYDOR label.
It was their 3rd album, and although it sold very few copies, many fans consider it a classic and their best musically.

The LP was bought on its release in 1973, and is a very early 1st pressing.
The vinyl is on the POLYDOR label, number 2310 246 and has the following early 1st press matrix numbers and interesting "stampers":
- Side 1: 2310246 A#4 8 1 0 with "PORKY" etched in the blank vinyl
- Side 2: 2310246 B#3 1 1 3 with "LET THE BRAIN TAKE THE STRAIN" etched in the blank vinyl

Record is EX++, the vinyl looks completely unmarked in normal light.
When examined under a spotlight, you can see that side 2 has a short thin hairline surface mark on part of track 1 & 2,
but this does not affect the audio, and is hard to find again in normal light. This is the only reason for not grading it Near Mint.
Otherwise the vinyl is superb - remarkably free from sleeve scuffs and handling hairlines that you would normally expect to find on records of this age.
Vinyl has a nice black sheen, with just a small number of spindle marks on the record label, that are hard to see.
PLAYTEST
The LP plays superbly, and sounds like a new record, apart from a couple of soft pips and a minor amount of feint background noise in the quiet moments on track 1 on both sides,
Also it is very quiet between tracks, with no pops or bangs.
The cover is EX-, and is a non-laminated cover.
There is just feint partial ringwear on front and even less on the the back cover.
Due to the unlaminated material used for the cover - there is some wear on the corners and edges.
There is also some wear along the top edge of the spine, otherwise the spine is excellent with the lettering readable.
Otherwise the cover is in good shape, apart from a few small specks of handling wear on the back cover.

The record will be packed in a stiff package specifically designed for sending vinyl throught the post, with added protection on the corners
