Up for sale is a rare original 1966 garage rock 45 by The Bells of Rhymny, featuring guitarist, songwriter, and producer Dick Wagner—later known for his work with Alice Cooper, Lou Reed, The Frost, and Aerosmith. Pressed on the Dicto label (#1003), this single features:
• A-side: The Wicked Old Witch (Dick Wagner) – 2:00
• B-side: She’ll Be Back (Burdick, Parsons & Wagner) – 2:30
This particular copy comes from the personal collection of a Detroit DJ, who was part of the local scene that helped bring Michigan garage bands to radio audiences in the mid-60s. The DJ provenance, combined with Wagner’s early involvement, makes this an important piece of Detroit rock history.
Condition: Vinyl shows surface wear and light marks consistent with age, with handwritten DJ notes on the labels (see photos). Plays through strong. Housed in a plain vintage sleeve.
Original Dicto pressings are seldom seen for sale, making this one highly desirable for collectors of Michigan garage rock, Detroit proto-punk, and early Dick Wagner recordings.
