Original 1959 Blue Note Mono – DG, RVG, Ear – 47 West 63rd Pressing

An absolutely stunning original of Bennie Green – Walkin’ & Talkin’ (Blue Note BLP 4010, mono). This is the true first U.S. pressing with all early identifiers:

  • 47 West 63rd, NYC address both sides
  • Deep groove on both sides
  • RVG stamped in dead wax
  • Plastylite “ear” etched on both sides
  • Flat edge and thick vinyl typical of late-50s Blue Note issues

A prime Blue Note collectable

Walkin’ & Talkin’ represents Bennie Green at his creative peak — a soulful, swinging set that bridges hard bop and early soul-jazz with a laid-back confidence. 
Copies in comparable condition have fetched $700–$800 USD in recent years, making this an outstanding opportunity for any serious collector or jazz audiophile.

Fully play-tested - both sides play near mint with superb clarity and depth. Sound is clean, dynamic, and silent throughout, even in the quiet passages. Visually excellent: Side 1 shows a few faint hairlines; Side 2 has light surface traces visible only under strong light. No feelable marks. Deep gloss and spotless labels. A superb-sounding copy!

SLEEVE: EX 

Strong and well-preserved with sharp edges and spine. Small rub near the “E” in Green and light corner wear (see photos). A clean, solid sleeve — a fine example of this classic Blue Note presentation.
A truly beautiful example overall - very hard to upgrade.
