Bette Midler released her debut album "The Divine Miss M" in November 1972 on Atlantic Records. Barry Manilow, who met Midler when she was playing the Continental Baths in NYC, served as co-producer and musical arranger. It was a Top 10 album and includes the hit singles "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" and "Do You Wanna Dance." The front cover features an illustration by Richard Amsel.

This copy of (SD 7238) is nearly 50-years-old and is from the First Pressing. The cover shows only slight wear and is easily VG+. The disc test plays cleanly and is also VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl. It was mastered by George Piros at Atlantic Studios in NYC and this copy was pressed at the Capitol Records plant in Los Angeles. The Side One dead wax is etched ST-A-722567G PR-CA-LA.

In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Inner Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve. It will ship securely in the special corrugated Album Mailer seen in the last picture.

This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 49 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
