Description
BEVERLY KENNEY :: "Born to Be Blue" You are bidding on a very rare copy of Beverly Kenney's "Born to Be Blue" LP. This was issued by Decca in 1959 and is a sample/demonstration copy on a pink label. She recorded only one more album (Like Yesterday) before committing suicide in 1960.
Beverly Kenney's career began in the most unlikely of places, as a telephone birthday singer in the early 50's. She recorded three albums for Decca, this being the second of those.
This album is in VG- to VG condition overall. The dominant portion of the album plays VG to VG+ with light noise present throughout but never dominating the music. Only the first portion of each side produces more than typical surface noise for an album of this age. The beginning of the second side is the most offensive and I've provided a sample below in all candidness (appears at about 1:58 in the sample). But listen to the rest of the sample for an idea of how clean the album is on average through its whole. It has a pink label and is designated as a "Sample Copy" + "Do Not Sale".
The cover is in tremendous condition. There are truly no signs of wear at all. No hint of seam wear/splitting, no rubbing to the front cover art, very minor rubbing to the white back-cover, liner notes completely legible. No spine wear, all text 100% clean & legible, a truly terrific cover given its age!
