Hysterical interview between Big Black and an unintelligible Dutch(? German?) interviewer reading obviously pre-picked questions. This has the same content as Blast First's Talk About F**king, but with a different cover, a different name, and a very limited pressing (this was promo only, and is pretty hard to find, while the Blast First version seems to have been distributed far and wide). The script included with the album has no relation whatsoever to the content of the record itself. Very amusing, Steve...

This album MAY have been reissued in late 1992 to promote the Big Black reissues on T&G, but I can't for the life of me remember where I heard that...

HOT ON the dancing heels of the Sonic Youth Interview Disc that accompanied the 'Sister' LP comes a BIG BLACK one to further (dis)inform devotees of the late, great, Chicago cuties...

Talk About F---ing' contains neither specific chatter about Big Black's top-selling 'Songs About F---ing' LP nor talk about the act I— itself, bar a wistful mention of ex-member Jeff Pezzati's sister. Will they ever grow up? Nope.

The questions were posed by goateed Boston socialite Byron Forced Exposure Coley but different ones were asked by his alter ego Daniel O'Grady of Texas, a xenophobe's nightmare concoction of every intense continental-style 'zine writer who's ever taken chronic liberties over intonation and the lifestyle of others...

Over a tootling global mood music from Tijuana to Mykenos, the guys wheeze and chuckle with matchless charm, despite an incurable poop'n'penis obsession. With an emotional age of 14, Steve Albini, unclaimed bastard son of Bob Newhart, navigates PWEI-styte sexism with a grace and artistry that would be incomprehensible to everyday 'tads'. The other two, Dave Riley and Santiago Durango, clearly couldn't wait to get away from him but daren't leave the studio since half of Chicago wants to beat them up.

The interview disc is the last-ever Big Black vinyl on Blast First but they're still functioning individually. Guitar godfather, godlike genius and trainee lawyer Santiago was recently heard to mumble about a solo 'project' which Blast First await with bated ears. Dave Riley is in hiding at film school in the southern states and Steve is perfecting his new band. Taking Cream as its blueprint, it involves an un-named bass player and Ray, drummer from Scratch Acid. Can't wait.

Talk About F---ing' is not available from Virgin or HMV but probably from your fave indie dealer and definitely on mail order from Blast First. What's more, Blast First have three copies of this rather limited edition thang to give away plus three highly collectable giant posters. ORIGIN/PROVENANCE: My friend Corey Rusk, who runs Touch & Go Records (and formerly of The Necros), has been cleaning out his storage space and has realized that he really doesn't have any more room for the all doubles and triples of many of the rare records in his collection.  He's busy running Touch and Go and doesn't have the time to deal with selling his extras... but they do need to go.  So he asked me to help him sell them off.  And of course, as a long time friend of Corey and and fan of Touch and Go Records (along with being a 10+ year eBay seller with a perfect feedback rating of 1600+), I jumped at the chance.
