Pegasus PEG 4 Stereo UK 1st pressing PEG 4 A-1U PEG 4 B-1U Gatefold sleeve by EJ Day
This is the UK 1st pressing of this very rare album on the Pegasus label with A1/B1 stamped matrix and gatefold sleeve by EJ Day. Best of all, this copy is barely played with unbelievably clear audio, if you can find another copy of this rare LP most are played to death, badly scratched and sound terrible in the quiet passages, of which there are MANY!
Vinyl looks EX+ with just a couple of very faint hairlines. Lovely glossy sheen and rich black vinyl. Outstanding copy.
Sleeve looks VG+ with just light wear on bottom and top edges, nice square spine which is still perfectly legible. Looks in very good plus condition and is only let down by some ringwear to rear and a coloured in patch on the front cover below album title.
Labels are lovely and clean, some age marks and very little evidence of play. Superb!
Audio playback: Breathtaking! This is quite simply the cleanest and best sounding copy of this album I have EVER heard! The true tests of audio quality on this LP are the quiet sections of which there are MANY! The audio in these sections (and also in between tracks by the way) is outstandingly clean! I have never heard a copy as good as this! Absolutely stunning audio. Needless to say the rest of the album's audio is also breathtaking, lovely bass tone and fabulous overall song audio, just a couple of dust pops here and there. The run ins are virtually noise free, in between tracks are virtually noise free, just the barest hint of very faint background crackle, and I mean the faintest hint! The loud song audio is just wonderful and as previously mentioned, the quietest sections are just unbelievable! A side plays as NEAR MINT (many would describe as MINT), B side has a few repetitive hiss/scuff sounds for the first 20 seconds of track 1, rest of the side is as good as A side, so B side is downgraded to EX+ audio - but this is still a fabulous playing copy!
