Bill Evans Waltz for DebbieGlorious Stereo issue of this legendary LP. Most people consider the Stereo issue far superior to the mono.
Riverside Records RS-9399 Stereo USA 1961
Piano – Bill Evans Bass – Scott LaFaro Drums – Paul Motian Producer – Orrin Keepnews Recorded By – Dave Jones
Recorded live at The Village Vanguard, New York City, June 25, 1961
Black label, first Stereo US pressing.
This Was Bill Evans’ First Trio –––– The Album Was The Fourth And Final Effort From The Unit—Scott Lafaro Died In A Car Accident Just Ten Days After The Live Date At The Village Vanguard From Which “Waltz For Debby”And Its Predecessor, “Sunday At The Village Vanguard” Were Taken. The Loss Of Lafaro Hit Evans Hard, And He Went Into A Brief Seclusion. When Evans Returned To The Trio Format Later In 1962, It Was With Motian And Noted Bassist Chuck Israels. The Title Track, A Musical Portrait Of Evans’ Niece, Became A Staple Of His Live Repertoire In Later Years. It Originally Appeared As A Solo Piano Piece On Evans’ Debut Lp, “New Jazz Conceptions”. It Remains What Is Likely Evans’ Most Well-Known Song, One That He Would Play Throughout His Career. This Is A Superb Original Stereo Pressing From 1962 On The Black With Silver Print “Riverside” Label With Deep Groove On Both Sides... The Cover Has Slight Shelf Wear To Front Side, No Writing. Glossy And Hardly Played Vinyl Record With Just One Very Tiny And Inaudible Mark On Side Two. Beautiful Example Of This Outstanding And Highly Acclaimed Album ...

Please make use of the zoom feature provided to see a magnified view of the pictures. With grading being a subjective matter pictures are an objective way to evaluate for yourself.
All records visually graded. When in doubt, Play-graded on on a restored Thorens TD 124 with an SME 3012 and an Ortofon SPU Meister. Sound of mono vinyl will improve when played with a proper mono cartridge, I recommend Ortofon A or C.

About me
Im a long time collector always evolving and keeping my collection relevant to my tastes. I am also picking up records I believe someone else may appreciate. When you buy from me, you are buying from someone who care about the music as much as you do.
I have an extensive collection, and are allways looking for a few special items. I am more than interested in trading. So if you have spare jazz, especially Spiritual, European to the freer side and elusive Blue Notes/New Jazz etc, please let me know. I am also interested in some soul and some Psychedelics and Kraut.
