Description
BILL HARRIS HERD released on Norman Granz' NORGRAN RECORDS (M GN-1062) in 1956. It is an original DEEP GROOVE Pressing. The trombonist is joined by Chubby Jackson doing the vocal on "Tutti-Frutti".
The LP is in strong NEAR MINT condition with only one very light hairline scratch (& short) on Side 1, and a couple of equally light handling Marks also on Side 1 around Songs 1,2 and 4 with no affect on audio, with Side 2 quite Clean! It has been played rarely judging by the lack of spindle marks on the labels, with the vinyl clean and shiny, with no other blemishes other than the above. On playing, it is close to Mint, with no undue surface noise, including on the areas mentioned above. There is no wear at all on the solid labels. A real beauty.
The Cover is in VERY GOOD PLUS condition, with Very Light Wear on the Front and Back, Seams showing just very light wear except for a clean 3" split on the top seam at opening, and the beginning of a 3" semi-split (just the outer paper) in the middle of the bottom seam, with the title seam clean, and the Corners showing same light wear with the 2 on the open side each having a small wrinkle with the other 2 sharp but with the light wear. There are no Cut-Out marks.
BONUS 10" EP: BILL HARRIS COLLATES released on Norman Granz' CLEF RECORDS (MG C-125) in 1953. The EP is in VG condition with numerous light scratches and marks which on playing leave moderate to heavy background noise and static. The Cover is a nice VG++, with the front and back clean (sticker removal on back white background doesn't show much and is the most wear on cover) seams intact, and corners sharp.
