James Brown has credited BILL JOHNSON & HIS 4 STEPS OF RHYTHM FROM AUGUSTA,GA. as an influence in the early days of Brown and his Famous Flames. It's been said that future James Brown Band saxophonists ST. CLAIR PINCKNEY and AL "BRISCO" CLARK are among the sidemen on this session. This master was later bought or leased by Sun Records in Memphis who added some background vocals and reissued it on Sun.
