This LP of Billboard's Top Rock and Roll Hits from 1957 is an excellent collection of ten great songs from that year. This VINYL is one of the stronger ones in this series of Billboard hits put out by Rhino.
The quality of the sound is excellent; and this is after I listened to it so many times I must have almost run the "grooves" off the data side of the VINYL! SMILES It's hard to pick just one song that's my very favorite here. They all bring back such great memories.
The LP music draws you in immediately The liner notes offer some great pictures of the artists on this LP and some quick recaps of news that was big in 1957. Very good!
This LP has so many wonderful songs that it does deserve five stars.
Overall, I highly recommend this LP for fans of '50's music, fans of the artists on this LP. You can't go wrong with such a strong LP chock full of excellent music like this one. Great job, Rhino, and enjoy, everyone!
If you want really GREAT rock from the `50's, this LP is perhaps the one best LP'S I highly recommend this album AS A COLLECTOR OF THE BILLBOARD VINYL SERIES..
Billboard Top Rock & Roll Hits: 1957 is a vinyl masterpiece that still gives you ten big rock and roll hits from 1957. The quality of the sound is excellent and I like the artwork, too.
Elvis starts off the track list with his "All Shook Up." Elvis handles the tempo and key changes very smoothly as he always did; and the musical arrangement lacks nothing--it's THAT good. Elvis never sounded better and the percussion marks the best very well.
The Everly Brothers follow with "Wake Up Little Susie." The modulations between major and minor keys work very well; and this ballad shines while they harmonize and play the guitars so well. Paul Anka's "Diana" sparkles like brand new whenever I hear this; Paul sings this well and his excellent diction bolsters his performance even more.
Moreover, listen for The Buddy Holly & The Crickets doing a great job on "That'll Be The Day." The musical interlude has plenty of room for some awesome guitars and percussion; and overall The Crickets perform "That'll Be The Day" very well.
Elvis returns for "Jailhouse Rock." Elvis sings this with all his heart and soul; the guitars make it shine and Elvis never misses a beat. "Jailhouse Rock" is a prime example of classic 1950s rock and roll.
Chuck Berry sings "School Day" with an awesome, catchy melody; and the album ends nicely with Jerry Lee Lewis performing "Whole Lot Of Shakin' Going On" with his comparatively high tenor voice. The piano arrangement couldn't be better and Jerry Lee Lewis sings this so well.
Overall, this LP gives people a great way to remember some of the very best rock and roll hits from 1957. It is also a great introduction to `50s rock and roll for newcomers to this genre of music ON VINYL.
10. Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On - JERRY LEE LEWIS

BILLBOARD 1961 TOP ROCK’N’ROLL HITS Long Out of Print ORIGINAL 1980'S PRESSING and OUR of the LAST COPY left in the world still factory sealed. TERMENDOUSLY RARE & VALUABLE TITLE WITHIN THE SERIES. Audio remastering by the renowned Studio Engineer Bill Inglot from Rhino Records for some of the best sound remastering ever in the world.
Billboard Top Rock & Roll Hits: 1961 gives you a vinyl masterpiece with ten great rock and roll hits from 1961. The quality of the sound is rather good and I like the artwork.
Bobby Lewis gets things started with his "Tossin' And Turnin'." This awesome little number rocks well and the key modulations are great! Bobby never misses a beat and the backup vocalists harmonize very well. Del Shannon's "Runaway" also rocks but somewhat slower right after "Tossin' And Turnin'." Del Shannon sings this out like a belter and the interesting musical interlude adds to the number quite a bit.
The Marcels weigh in with their hit entitled "Blue Moon;" this has a distinct doo wop flavor to it that was a bit more popular a few years prior to 1961 but it all works very well. The backup vocalists are very strong on "Blue Moon."
Dion's "Runaround Sue" has a sound and a beat that always makes me smile despite the serious lyrics of the song. The men in the background harmonize and Dion's voice is quite strong. His excellent diction bolsters his performance and they never sing a superfluous note!
The Shirelles perform "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow;" this number always pulls at my heartstrings and the melody benefits from the strings in the arrangement. Shep & The Limelites do their sweet tune entitled "Daddy's Home;" and listen also for Ben E. King to do his huge hit "Stand By Me." "Stand By Me" still sounds as fresh as the first time I ever heard it!
Overall, this vinyl masterpiece gives you some rather strong hits from 1961 that are tremendously hard to find in new sealed condition. I highly recommend this lp for people who like music from the very early 1960s; and newcomers to this genre will enjoy this album, too.

BILLBOARD 1963 TOP ROCK’N’ROLL HITS Long Out of Print 25 YEARS ORIGINAL PRESSING and one of the last copies left in the world still factory sealed.
Billboard Top Rock & Roll Hits: 1963 offers ten great rock and roll hits that made the radio waves sizzle in 1963. Many of you who heard these tunes first on the radio will love this VINYL MASTERPIECE; and it makes a great introduction to this style of music for younger people as well. The sound quality is very good and the artwork reflects good judgment.
Jimmy Gilmer & The Fireballs start this LP off with what in retrospect almost sounds like a bubblegum pop hit entitled "Sugar Shack." The beat is quite good and they sing and play this to perfection. Jimmy's diction is excellent and it bolsters his performance as he sings this one out strong! "Sugar Shack" is a peppy little number that you may just like more than you think you will.
Jan & Dean weigh in with an awesome hit, "Surf City." Jan & Dean can sometimes sound like The Beach Boys but as always they hold their own very well; the beat is awesome and the background harmonizing is terrific! Listen also for The Chiffons singing their hearts out on "He's So Fine." The Chiffons sing of the men they love and how much they want to start a romantic relationship with their men.
The Kingsmen turn in a solid hit with "Louie, Louie;" and there's also a major highlight of this album in The Essex as they do "Easier Said Than Done." "Easier Said Than Done" rocks very well for an early rock hit and this impresses me a lot.
Nino Tempo & April Stevens perform what is probably my very favorite song on this album, "Deep Purple." "Deep Purple" has major and minor modulations that are brilliantly done and Nino Tempo & April Stevens never miss a beat! I love that percussion on "Deep Purple," too.
The Beach Boys end the album strong with "Surfin' U.S.A." They harmonize and sing this without a superfluous note; and the beat is awesome! The musical arrangement uses the guitars, drums and percussion very well.
Overall, you just have to have this LP if you love early American rock and roll. The LP is chock full of hits.
This LP is full of Rock’n’Roll Hall of Fame artists
Billboard 1963 has tracks like
Sugar Shack/Jimmy Gilmer & The Fireballs,

BILLBOARD 1966 TOP ROCK’N’ROLL HITS Long Out of Print ORIGINAL 1980'S PRESSING and one of the last copies left in the world still factory sealed. -
The year 1966 was an explosive year in music. The Beach Boys-PET SOUND, The Beatles-REVOLVER, The Byrds-FIFTH DIMENSION were a few of the most valuable albums released. A small sampling of the top singles are collected here. "I'm A Believer" is a marvelous opening track, with crystal clear sound quality. All the songs are classic-"Wild Thing", "Soul And Inspiration", "Good Vibrations", just to name a few. Performed by top 1960s bands-The Lovin' Spoonful, The Beach Boys, Tommy James, The Righteous Brothers, The Mamas & The Papas. Though every song and band are noteworthy, I'd be here for hours describing them. Inside is a time capsule with the top headlines, fads, movies, TV shows, plays, books, and debuts. This 1966 one is excellent way to get terrific songs with great sound. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Billboard Top Rock & Roll Hits: 1966 has ten great rock and roll hits that really rocked us back in 1966! I like the diversity of the artists on this album and the sound quality is also very good.
The Monkees kick it off right with "I'm A Believer." This sounds a bit like pop in retrospective but it does rock rather well. The Monkees sings this so well and the melody is very catchy--love that percussion! The Lovin' Spoonful continues with "Summer In The City;" this gritty rock tune always worked well and it still sounds very good today, I like the musical arrangement with the drums and percussion; and they sing this great. I really like "Summer In The City."
Tommy James And The Shondells sing a seductive, romantic little number called "Hanky Panky;" gee, I wonder what they're singing about? Tommy James And The Shondells do this with a lot of energy and the modulations between major and minor keys work so well on "Hanky Panky."
"(You're My) Soul And Inspiration" comes to us courtesy of The Righteous Brothers; they sing this passionately and the backup vocalists do equally well on this fine number. Listen also for The Mamas & The Papas doing their classic hit "Monday, Monday." "Monday, Monday" features their incredible ability to sing, harmonize and pass along that smooth California sound almost effortlessly.
The Beach Boys follow with "Good Vibrations;" this tune is timeless and it sounds just as grand as the first time I ever heard it. I especially like the middle of the song but it all works very well and "Good Vibrations" is one of the best rock songs ever written.
The Supremes - You Can't Hurry Love - The Four Tops - Reach Out I'll Be there & Nancy Sinatra's Those Boots are Made For Walkin'. What a year

Billboard 1970 is another addition worth buying . For only 10 tracks, these songs are completely classical hits made by various talented artists. Songs worthy of praise. If you DON'T OWN THIS add Billboard 1973 to your rock n roll hits collection.
This LP of Billboard's Top Rock and Roll Hits from 1970 is an excellent collection of ten great songs from that year.

This LP has so many wonderful songs that it does deserve five stars.
Overall, I highly recommend this LP for fans of '70s music, fans of the artists on this LP. You can't go wrong with such a strong LP chock full of excellent music like this one. Great job, Rhino, and enjoy, everyone!
If you want really GREAT rock from the `70s, this LP is perhaps the one best LP'S I highly recommend this album AS A COLLECTOR OF THE BILLBOARD VINYL SERIES..
Billboard Top Rock & Roll Hits: 1970 offers ten hot hits that made the airwaves sizzle back in 1970! This surely brings back many fond memories; I love this older rock music. Hopefully it will bring back great memories for the people who first heard these tunes on the radio; and newcomers to this style of music would do well to consider this fine VINYL.
The Shocking Blue kick off the track set of hits with their smash hit entitled "Venus." "Venus" has a great guitar solo and the percussion, drums and more carry the bulk of the musical arrangement. They play and sing this song so well it makes me wanna dance every time I hear it! Awesome! Listen also for "Mama Told Me (Not To Come)" by Three Dog Night. Three Dog Night does an awesome job on "Mama Told Me (Not To Come);" the modulations between major and minor work very well and the guitars are really cool. I love it! The harmonizing of some of the lyrics is very good, too.
The Partridge Family follows with what seems like a softer rock style hit, "I Think I Love You." "I Think I Love You" is a softer type of rock love ballad that still works well as they play this; David Cassidy sings this strong and he never misses a beat! There seems to be a harpsichord in this arrangement--and this impresses me very much.
The Jackson 5 weigh in with their "I Want You Back;" little Michael Jackson sings his heart out and the funky early `70s flavor enhances the natural beauty of this rock tune. The percussion, drums, guitars and more make "I Want You Back" a true highlight of this album. Moreover, there's also an awesome "Spirit In The Sky" by Norman Greenbaum; this number always makes me stop and listen to it because it's just so good. I love the guitar arrangement and the background vocalists sing this without a superfluous note.
Edwin Starr scores big with his hit "War;" this strong, rockin' ballad tells it like it is about war; Edwin Starr delivers this with all his might and it really comes off sounding very good. The album ends with Sugarloaf's "Green-Eyed Lady;" this is one terrific hit and you will like this if you haven't heard it before. Great guitar arrangement on "Green-Eyed Lady," too!
This VINYL LP more than amply proves that the early `70s were a great time for some fresh, new rock music that made us want to dance and listen to these songs over and over again. I highly recommend this PIECE OF VINYL.
10. Green-Eyed Lady - SUGARLOAF
