Description
This is a mint condition 10LP vinyl box set of Billie Holiday on Verve 1946-1959 produced by Japanese Verve and released in the U.S. through Polygram Records in 1985.
The LPs have never been removed from their liners and have never been played. The box shows minor wear on the edges and corners and there is minor scuffing on the front. There are no rips except for the bottom inside edge on the back which has a four inch tear in the seam of the box. The booklet and LP list are excellent condition. I am the original owner.
Following is an excerpt of a review of the reissue from Scott Yanow of the New York Times:
"Until this music was reissued on CD with additional selections, this large blue box set (which contains ten LPs) was unbeatable in documenting the second half of Billie Holiday's career. Its packaging actually tops its CD counterpart with a booklet that has a complete discography of Lady Day's entire career. The music consists of all of her 1952-57 jazz-oriented studio sessions, her 1946 and 1947 appearances at Jazz at the Philharmonic affairs, her Carnegie Hall concert of 1956, two live cuts from 1958 and Holiday's final studio album..."
