Description
A true piece of music history - the original Commodore (526) release of Billie Holiday and Her Orchestra's "Strange Fruit" b/w "Fine & Mellow." 10" 78rpm single, 1939. Plain sleeve.
The disc is not in terrible condition, nor is it anywhere near "Like New." Has some scratches and scuffs; judging by appearance, it will doubtlessly play with surface noise and pops. We'll gladly accept a return if it skips - we don't think it will.
We are very familiar with shipping these types of fragile 78rpm records, and this title will be boxed to maximize protection.
About our LP sales: Steve, the male half of the Urban Archaeologist team, has seriously collected records since he was 8, and has about 20 years' experience selling vinyl - both on eBay and face-to-face in some of the West Coast's best shops. We do not use a grading system, choosing instead to point out any visible flaws in the record. After all, our VG could be your NM, or vice versa. We never use the terms "Mint" or "Near Mint" to describe anything we sell.
Like all of our items, a record has to be very clean for us to list on eBay, unless the title is so rare/in demand that it is valuable in any reasonable condition.
