Description
Here's something we've never seen before--a promotional picture sleeve and single promoting Billy Joel's yet to be released album 'Piano Man', sent out by Columbia Records as an invitation to see Billy at the legendary Troubadour Club in West Hollywood. The show, on November 6, 1973, was eight days before the release of the 'Piano Man' album.
The sleeve reads:
Columbia Records is proud to present a dynamic young artist BILLY JOEL who will be heralding his new album 'Piano Man' at the TROUBADOUR for your listening enjoyment. Please join us. Tuesday November 6. 9:00 PM. -Please present this at the door-
The single is a stock copy with a faint 'For Demonstration Use Only/Not For Sale' stamp.
Sleeve: EX+ with some light creasing/handling, Disc: Mint and unplayed.
We are located in Los Angeles, near the Troubadour, and have been dealing in rare records since 1973, and have never seen another example of this rarity.
We grade all records visually, cover first, then disc; using the abbreviations M / NM / EX / VG with + and -. We try to describe everything as accurately as possible, and spot check any vinyl flaw that looks like it might make a sound. We regularly receive praise for our grading, but as all grading is subjective, we are happy to give a full refund for anything you aren't happy with no questions asked.
Unlike some eBay sellers, we don't feel the need to hype records by including long reviews or albums, quoting lyrics, making up arcane variations. We just grade accurately, describe any flaw, and sell only high quality rare records in fine condition.
