Description
Here is a very rare publishing acetate containing the original 1971 Cold Spring Harbor version of Billy Joel's first single as a solo artist. The disc was made for internal use by the publisher April-Blackwood Music, though we're not sure of the exact date that it was cut. It's certainly extremely rare, and possible one of a kind. It comes from the collection of a former LA music industry professional. The disc is in VG+ condition, with some light surface wear. Playback is excellent with bit of background crackle. As with the version on the album, it is slightly sped-up, leaving Billy's voice sounding slightly higher than it is.
