BILLY MARTIN ORCHESTRA - STRAWBERRY SOUL
Here's an original pressing of this break carnival slice, now a classic instrumental funk due to the exposure of its repress in the early 90's, which repress in now OOP. There is a current repress but what you see here is definitely the original.
Billy Martin is, just as Frank Motley, an American-born trumpetist who emigrated in Canada before the turn of the 60's deceny. They both worked as well as bandleader in the early r'n'b field and session musicians for nutritional subsistance.
Of the many albums Billy Martin has released, only the last 3 are of interest, 1st on London, 2nd on Onion and 3rd on Trans-World. This 3rd and last album was only released locally in small quantities.
Original Canadian pressing, on the Trans-World label # TWF-9540, 197? (70-72).
Record is VG+ with few harmless scuffs, cover is VG+ as well with a signature on back, no splits. Still a very strong copy.
