MEGARARE and HARD-TO-FIND original High Fidelity MONO Odeon Records very first press released, made and distributed in Chile in 1957 by Industrias Eléctricas Y Musicales Odeon, S.A. (Odeon Records), licensed from “Ember” (Ember Records, USA), catalog number MSOD 8004, with machine etched matrix numbers MD45 E 2155 in Side A and MD45 EK 2156 in Side B, with green/silver Odeon Records labels and large center!!! Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!! Amazing rarity for all lovers, fans and collectors of Billy Myles and early days of rock’n’roll, R&B/soul and Doo-Wop!!!

“The Joker” was originally released in USA in 1957 and late the same year we could see this wonderful single released here in Chile, licensed from Ember Records as you can see it’s informed in labels. Song titles are written in Spanish, translated to English, with full credits for songwriters and play time of each song, with the original price printed in Side A, “$900.-”. If you know this single maybe you could have already noticed that here in Chile the song title “The Joker (That’s What They Call Me)” was written “The Joker – That’s What They Call Me” and, the most important fact, in this Megarare Chilean press the sides are inverted, with “Honey Bee” as Side A and “The Joker” as Side B”. So, here you have the chance to get and own this classic early rock’n’roll single by Billy Myles released in Chile in 1957 and almost never seen, with UNIQUE GREEN ODEON RECORDS LABELS and Spanish-written song titles, and maybe auctioned here in eBay by the very first time!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE!!!

This record doesn’t have a cover. The record is in very nice VG or VG+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, with many soft scuffs and hairlines and some very light scratches, which don’t affect play at all. Labels are in great EX- or EX condition both sides, clean and clear, with only some spindle hole wear, a little tears and residues of a sticker in Side B, with still a name of some past owner written. The sound is in strong EX or even EX+ condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with only some very soft hiss and occasional light crackles here and there, more evident in the last seconds of each song, which of course don’t cause any distraction from the loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, maybe this record could not to be for the strictest Minty minds or audiophiles, but sure it’s still in a great condition and with still a superb sound quality after about 62 years, which won’t disappoint anyone!!! And don’t forget this is an UNIQUE RELEASE with GREEN ODEON RECORDS LABELS, with Spanish-written song titles and inverted sides, a record maybe auctioned here in eBay by the very first time and in GREAT CONDITION!!! We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending on thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.
