“THAT’S THE WAY GOD PLANNED IT”
(Así Lo Hizo Dios)
MEGARARE original Apple Records very first High Fidelity Stereo press released in 1969 in Chile by Apple Records, made and distributed by Industrias Eléctricas Y Musicales Odeon, S.A. (Odeon Records, Chile), licensed from Apple Records M., USA, catalog number APPLE-2005, with hand etched matrix numbers SAPCOR-9 A in Side A and SAPCOR-9-B 1 in Side B. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!
“That’s The Way God Planned It” was originally released in 1969 and the same year we could see this record released here in Chile and like usual in the period we got it with an UNIQUE COVER, made of two single pieces of cardboard with two single pieces of paper attached (not glued) to the cardboards for front and back covers and kept held by an outer plastic bag, which’s also part of the cover. Front cover keeps strictly the original UK artwork, the only difference is that in Chile it’s added the album title in Spanish. Back cover also keeps the original UK design, but with additional name “Billy Preston” at right edge and with liner notes by Derek Taylor written in Spanish and album and song titles written in English, translated to Spanish, with full credits for songwriters and additional credits near right bottom corner. In labels the album title is written in English only and the tracklist is written in English, translated to Spanish, with full credits for songwriters and producers. So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE PRESS of this classic Apple Records album by Billy Preston, produced by George Harrison, with UNIQUE COVER, Stamped 1 in Side B and with Spanish album and song titles. A MUST TO HAVE for all fans, lovers and collectors of Billy Preston, George Harrison, Bob Dylan (he sings “She Belongs To Me”) and Apple Records releases!!! WOW!!!
The cover was already described and it’s in great VG or VG+ condition, clean and clear, with wear in all the edges, more evident in back cover, with bends and little rips, evident age browning in back cover, faint blemishes and residues of a sticker at bottom right corner of front cover, someone had the idea to cut that part and then glued it again and added a little part missed. The outer plastic bag was removed but some past owner used other plastic bag and I think it has worked very well to protect this so fragile kind of cover, so I’d recommend not to remove it. The record is in nice VG+ or EX- condition both sides, glossy and clean, with many soft scuffs, hairlines and light scratches, which don’t affect play at all. Labels on both sides are in EX or EX+ condition, absolutely clean and clear, no marks, no writings at all, only minimal spindle hole wear and the stamp of the radio station which originally owned this record. The sound is in strong VG or VG+ condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, with constant background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with also constant hiss light crackles, more evident in the silent parts between tracks, and some occasional soft clicks in some parts, which don’t cause major distraction from the still loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to end. Overall, a nice record, maybe not for Minty minds or audiophiles, but sure a record with still a nice cover, a glossy record, almost immaculate labels and a very decent and respectable sound quality after almost 50 years, which won’t disappoint anyone and will satisfy any serious collector!!! WOW!!! And keep in mind the UNIQUE COVER, the Stamper “1” in Side B and the Spanish album and song titles!!! A MUST TO HAVE!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the cover and labels in detail.

_________________________________________________________
We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.
MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.
NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK
We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
