BILLY STEWART SUMMERTIME USA Chess Stereo UNBELIEVABLE to label one SOUL FUNK
Billy Stewart, Summertime.
1966 USA pressed Chess Records stereo LP, LPS 1499.
Early grooved black label with gold, red and blue Chess logo at 12 o'clock.
The LP was originally released as "Unbelievable" in 1965 but the title was changed after "Summertime" became a hit the following year. This LP does retain the title "Unbelievable" to the A side label however, with the B side marked as "Summertime". Presumably this mis-press indicates a fairly early transitional period LP.
Vinyl has two or three longish and visible superficial scuff marks, but otherwise in bright and glossy EX condition with bright undulled labels. Generally appears little and carefully played.
The A side plays around VG plus. On the whole the surfaces are clean and without underlying background noise. This side does display some very occasional low level crackle and a very occasional isolated soft tick, but this all well behind the music and not obtrusive. The B side plays very much cleaner and is nearer EX with barely any background noise at all during the entire side, plays very nicely.
Sleeve EX plus with original cello in place, slit open neatly at entry side. Just a fraction of rubbing to one corner tip. Any visible rubbing/marking is to the outer cello only.
