Taylor’s first recording session on March 20, 1945 includes the following personnel: Billy Taylor (p), Al Hall (b) and Jimmy Crawford (d). They perform: MONK’S MOOD; SOLACE and NIGHT AND DAY. The other session, recorded on November 20, 1949 includes: John Hardee (ts), Milt Page (org), Billy Taylor (p), John Simmons (b) and Shadow Wilson (d). They play: TAKE THE “A” TRAIN; MISTY MORNING BLUES and THE BUG. This a Deep Groove pressing and a MONO recording. I’ve graded the vinyl as M- and the record jacket as EX for the following reasons. The vinyl is clean of any marks on both sides of the LP, There is no sign of wear in or around the spindle hole on either side of the LP. The vinyl still retains its original luster. For a 10 Inch LP, the sound is excellent, probably due to the deep groove pressing. The record jacket is graded EX, only due to some discoloration on the liner notes, as a result of age. Otherwise, all the seams are clean with no sign of wear, as well as the cover. If you have any questions, please email me and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks.
