The first album by the German hard prog band BIRTH CONTROL had an odd round gatefold cover made like a Pill box.
The outrageous "Pilldosen" cover made this LP so rare and highly desirable.
This is an ORIGINAL copy with the round cover on the German Metronome blue label.

The cover has defects in the inner gatefold, where there is a large part of the edges, mostly black background, showing discolouration.
As you can see from the pictures below, the cover was apparently folded with the inside out by one of the previous owners, and taped all round the edge. The tape was probably taken off with alcohol, avoiding tears but discolouring the dark background (this is less visible on the right side where a group picture is).
The thin spine is still firm (it doesn't contain any written details), and there is some general light age wear and small creases on the cover.
On the outer side there are some tears on the top, both on front and back cover, as if the two sides have stuck together. Also two small tears on the left side of the front cover, near the seam. All these tears are on the white background, small and not particularly disturbing, and can be seen with some attention in the pictures below.

The vinyl has just some light surface marks and plays well with light background noise, in my opinion it can be graded as Very Good Plus.

RECORD COLLECTOR MAGAZINE'S GRADING SYSTEM

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packag­ing might have slight wear and/or creasing. 

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable sur­face marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. 

GOOD:The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc. 

FAIR:The record is still just playable but has not been cared for prop­erly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR:The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing. 

Please notice that I don't use Mint but NEAR MINT (which is very close but refers to a secondhand used record) except for Sealed/Brand New/Unplayed records, and I don't sell Poor or unplayable records. I try to be as honest as possible when grading records, but a mistake can be made from time to time.

Il primo album del gruppo tedesco di hard prog BIRTH CONTROL uscì con una caratteristica e scandalosa copertina tonda che riproduceva una confezione di pillole anticoncezionali. Per questo particolare il disco è diventato raro e molto ricercato.
Questa è una copia ORIGINALE, con la copertina apribile tonda, sull'etichetta tedesca Metronome di colore celeste/blu.

La copertina ha dei difetti nella parte interna, dove c'è una netta scoloritura sui bordi, particolarmente visibile nalla parte sinistra con sfondo nero.
Come si può vedere nelle fotografie qui sotto, la copertina è stata probabilmente piegata al contrario, con la parte interna fuori e unendo i lati con del nastro adesivo. Evidentemente il nastro è stato tolto con dell'alcool o un solvente chimico che ha evitato strappi, ma ha scolorito la copertina.
I due lati della copertina sono ancora attaccati da una sottile costa ancora integra e che non riporta il titolo del disco o altre informazioni.
Per il resto la copertina ha una normale usura derivante dall'età e qualche piega.
Sul lato esterno ci sono alcuni piccoli strappi: sul lato superiore, sia davanti che sul retro (probabilmente i due lati si sono attaccati) e sul lato sinistro vicino alla costa laterale, e si possono vedere con un po' di attenzione nelle foto. Tutti questi strappi sono di piccole dimensioni e su sfondo bianco, il che non li rende particolarmente visibili.

Il vinile ha qualche segno superficiale e suona molto bene con rumore di fondo contenuto, a mio parere un disco valutabile VG+
